  • The B. LauRen Senior Year Scholarship Application (2025-2026)

    This scholarship is in honor of the life of Ms. Bianca LauRen Brooks. Bianca was an active cheerleader during her high school years at E.E. Smith High School while attending Cross Creek Early College. A graduate in 2015, Bianca was passionate about helping others. She pursued her goals with passion and uniqueness. This scholarship serves to take away some of the early challenges students may face as they embark on their first steps into adulthood. The two chosen students will receive support for senior activities to include, but not limited to, senior dues, prom fees, cap and gown, college visits, applications, homecoming, ACT/SAT, senior week and other approved fees associated with senior year can be included. The information provided on this form will be used by the B. LauRen Scholarship Committee to select recipients for scholarships. One recipient will be chosen from both E.E. Smith High School and Cross Creek Early College. The chosen winners will be notified on June 19, 2025. Recipients will then be invited to a presentation on August 16, 2025. Details will be shared prior to the start of the students' senior year with students, parents/guardians, and the administration at each respected high school. It is important that you give complete details concerning plans for your senior year, activities and financial assistance information. Within the essay students should include how the scholarship will help them achieve their educational and career goals, along with how this assistance will help make a difference for you during the next academic year.

    Please list one educator and at least one community person who would recommend you for a scholarship. Please do not list the person who completes a scholarship recommendation for you. These persons will be contacted for verification. Make sure you include the correct information.

    List name of club, etc. and years of participation. If you volunteered, list the name of organization and the number of hours, weeks and years that you volunteered. If you worked, list the company, hours per week and length of time. Attach an additional sheet or resume if necessary.
  • Needs-based Scholarship Personal Essay

    For students to be considered, you will need to submit a one page, 200 word letter sharing why you should receive assistance to support your senior year of high school. All information supplied by you will be treated as confidential. Be sure to write in your own voice. You should be using language to speak about yourself. Letters must be your own work and in your own words. The use of generative AI tools like ChatGPT may result in removal from award consideration.
