Isomo Graduate Scholars (IGS) is a student-centered initiative by Isomo designed to remove bottlenecks that Rwandan professionals face when seeking graduate education globally. In partnership with the Government of Rwanda, and the Mastercard Foundation, IGS aims to support over 450 talented Rwandan professionals to access competitive graduate programs in an effort to contribute meaningfully to Rwanda’s transformation into a knowledge-based high income economy by 2050.
IGS is more than a scholarship pipeline. It’s a comprehensive ecosystem of support. Through strategic outreach and partnerships, as well as comprehensive mentorship and training, the program equips scholars with the skills, confidence, and guidance they need to secure scholarships and navigate the entire graduate school journey successfully. IGS also extends its support beyond admissions by fostering a vibrant community of scholars and connecting them to a network of peers, mentors, and professionals who share a deep commitment to excellence and to the development of Rwanda and Africa. This strong sense of community not only empowers scholars throughout their studies but also eases their transition back into the workforce to lead change.
IGS places a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion. It actively encourages applications from refugees, women, people with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups, ensuring that this opportunity is extended to those with the potential to lead, regardless of their background.
IGS is led by passionate professionals who are committed to excellence, integrity, and holistic support. If you are ready to take the next step in your academic and professional journey with purpose and ambition, IGS is ready to walk with you. Interested?
