🍏 Important Information for Vendors Selling Lower Risk Foods
Because you are selling packaged goods, fresh produce, or baked goods, your products are classified as lower risk under BC Interior Health regulations.
You still have important responsibilities to comply with health regulations and must complete the following:
- ✅ Submit a Temporary Food Services Application to Interior Health (even for low-risk foods).
- ✅ Follow safe food handling practices (even for packaged foods).
- ✅ Ensure all foods are properly labeled, sealed, and protected from contamination.
- ✅ Have a FoodSafe Level 1 Certificate for yourself or someone at your booth (recommended but not mandatory for lower risk foods).
Note: If you intend to offer any food samples (e.g., tastings), you must have handwashing facilities, gloves, and utensils to prevent direct hand contact with food.

(Note: For most low-risk vendors, you won’t need a full Food Safety Plan or Sanitation Plan unless you are doing onsite sampling or more complex food handling.)
❗ Important Reminder:
You must bring printed copies of all your required documents with you on the day of the event.
If you cannot produce them when requested during setup, you will not be allowed to operate.
