It's time to make LB zine #3! 😍
And as is tradition, we're running a creative writing workshop FOR CURRENT AND FORMER SEX WORKERS ONLY with the option to contribute* to our next issue!
This private and invite-only workshop is led by zine Bimbo-in-Chief, Andrea Werhun. We need more stories where sex workers are the heroes, not the victims, of our own journeys. Together, we'll create an epic sex worker hero's journey together, and then delve into our own heroic tales.
This form is encrypted, and we recommend signing up with your protonmail to be safe. Feel free to use whichever name you please.
The stories we share during this workshop are secrets. By attending, we trust you to not betray the confidence of anyone in the room. The stories we share may also be traumatic. While we will do our best to create Fun Good Times, please know that a sex worker trauma-informed counsellor will be present during the workshop should you need support at any time.
Oh, and did we mention this workshop is for sex workers ONLY? We do not consider burlesque performance, pole dancing, nude modeling, or sex therapy to be sex work.
Additionally, you must be vetted by a current or former Literal Bimbos contributor in order to attend. We screen participants and potential collabarators to keep the whole group safe.
*final decision on contributions is made by the Literal Bimbos executive.
Literal Bimbos reserves the right to deny or revoke admission to our private events for any reason. In the event of revoked admission, you will be fully refunded.
Our next theme is... ✨FANTASY✨
Since we're aiming to launch the zine around Halloween, we're looking for stories about sex work magic, delusional and fanciful daydream$, the make-believe that makes living possible and the nightmares we can't escape. We're talking tall tales, imaginary worlds and creatures, and adventures that don't adhere to the laws of reality. And everything in between!
We're seeking contributions in the form of:
- memoir
- essay/creative non-fiction
- fiction
- poetry
- illustrations
- & photography.
Please note that contributing to LB zine #3 is not mandatory! You are welcome to simply enjoy the opportunity to write surrounded by peers. :)
All you need to bring is yourself. We'll provide complimentary workshop notebooks and pens, but feel free to use whatever implements you choose: your own notebook or computer will do just fine.
This workshop is PWYC with a suggested donation of $20, and free for QTBIPOC. You can send an e-transfer to hello@andreawerhun.com or pay cash at the workshop. This money goes directly into LB operating and publishing costs and is much appreciated!
