Marksman SWAT Application
  • Thank you for your interest in becoming a Marksman SWAT leader!

  • Marksman wouldn't be possible without leaders who believe in its training and mission. The world needs more men willing and capable of reaching more men with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

Since Marksman SWAT leaders serve in countries all over the world, it is of utmost importance that each of our SWAT leaders represent Jesus Christ through their words, actions and lifestyle.

This application is intended to help you determine if you are currently living a life that other men should be following. If we identify any areas that may need improvement, it is our desire to help you become aware of any areas where you can grow in your own relationship with the Lord prior to leading in Marksman. You cannot lead other men to places you are not willing to go yourself.

This application will also ensure we are on the same page when it comes to what we consider essential Christian doctrine and basic Marksman principles.

Should you pass the Marksman SWAT application, you will then have the opportunity to take the SWAT Training Course (STC) to prepare you and equip you for how to effectively lead Marksman in your area.

This application should take you about 30 minutes to complete. If you are still interesting in applying for Marksman SWAT, get started below.

  • St. Augustine said, “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.”

Marksman is a 501c3 non-profit organization that acts as a parachurch ministry that is not exclusively connected to any particular church or denomination of Christianity.

Like St. Augustine’s quote, it is our desire to bring unity in essential Christian doctrine amongst leaders and churches worldwide.

In order to join forces together with Christians around the globe, we must avoid focusing on ways to cause division in non-essentials, but rather, focus on essential beliefs and core tenants we have in common.

If we can be on the page when it comes to the essential doctrine of Christianity, we can work together to fulfill the Great Commission together. Our 10 Essential Beliefs are listed below.

  • ESSENTIAL BELIEF #1

  • I believe that God is the maker of heaven and earth and is eternally existent as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. I reject any doctrine that states God was once a man who attained godhood as well as any doctrine stating that a man can become a god.*
  • ESSENTIAL BELIEF #2

  • I believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life and His miracles. I believe death of Jesus on the cross was substitutionary for people and paid for the sins of the world. I believe He rose from the grave and ascended into heaven and will return to earth in power and glory.*
  • ESSENTIAL BELIEF #3

  • I believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit, that His present work is to reveal Jesus Christ to people and to regenerate those who believe, and that He indwells Christians to mediate the life of Jesus Christ in them.*
  • ESSENTIAL BELIEF #4

  • I believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. I believe it is inerrant in the original manuscripts and it is the authority for conduct, belief and practice. I agree there is no need to add any other scriptures outside of the Bible.*
  • ESSENTIAL BELIEF #5

  • I believe people were created in the image of God. I believe through Adam, all people obtained a sin nature, which produces sin. Because of sin, I believe all people in their natural condition are separated from God and are under the wrath and condemnation of God.*
  • ESSENTIAL BELIEF #6

  • I believe people may be saved from the wrath of God, be forgiven of sin, be justified by the righteousness of Jesus Christ and be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ. I believe salvation is a free gift of God’s grace to all believers that cannot be earned by good works or merely trying harder.*
  • ESSENTIAL BELIEF #7

  • I believe the church was commanded by Jesus Christ to baptize those who come to faith in Him. I believe baptism expresses our union with the Lord’s death, burial, resurrection and new life. I believe I cannot be baptized on behalf of someone else, whether living or dead.*
  • ESSENTIAL BELIEF #8

  • I believe the Church was commanded by Jesus Christ to remember His death until He returns by taking communion, or the Lord’s Supper, with one another.*
  • ESSENTIAL BELIEF #9

  • I believe that the Church, the body of Christ, is made up of all believers, that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, and that local churches are the practical expression of the Church. The Church and local churches have the mission of making disciples according to the Great Commission. I understand that Marksman is not a church itself, but a ministry tool to help local churches around the world in their efforts to fulfill their role in the Great Commission.*
  • ESSENTIAL BELIEF #10

  • I believe that the family is the foundation of society and that marriage between one man and one woman is the foundation of the family. I believe that families that bear children should raise them in the knowledge of God for the preservation of good society.*

  • It appears as though we have differing views in one or more critical theological areas in what we consider essential Christian doctrine.

While we realize not all Christians will agree on all issues in the Bible, it is important that we are unified in what we consider essential doctrine. To learn more about essential doctrine and our Core Beliefs, click here. If you have questions about our Core Beliefs, you may submit them online here.

If you feel as though we are in alignment with essential doctrine at a later date, you are welcome to re-apply for SWAT at that time.

Thank you for your interest in Marksman SWAT.
