About the Camp

Step into the world of imagination with Davy Liu at the Kendu Kids Creativity Camp-a five-day workshop designed to empower children through art, storytelling, and teamwork. Rooted in Davy's experience as a world-class animator and visionary creator, this camp is more than just drawing and fun; it's a transformative journey where creativity meets confidence and imagination meets inspiration. Children are naturally gifted with wonder and storytelling, yet their potential is often boxed in by rigid expectations. This camp aims to reverse that. Through creative challenges, drawing, storyboarding, and team projects, students will discover their unique voice and learn to express it confidently. Our goal is to cultivate resilient, imaginative young minds who are not afraid to take creative risks and explore new ideas.

This camp includes a field trip on Tuesday, August 26th to the Santa Ana Zoo.

The Experience

Guided by Davy's philosophy-developed through years at Disney and beyond-students will learn that creativity is not just about art but also how they see and impact the world. With journal prompts, interactive brainstorming sessions, and collaborative artmaking, children will explore questions like:

What makes my idea different?
How does my imagination solve problems?
Can my story inspire others?

They'll be challenged to think like innovators-not just copy what's been done but create what's never been imagined. Through this process, they'll gain self-awareness, empathy, and storytelling tools that empower them personally and creatively.

Camp Hours: 9am through 4pm Ages: Open to students ages 6 and above
Location: Woodbridge neighborhood of Irvine
Cost: $750 per camper
Enroll by May 16th to receive a $100 discount. Space is limited, spaces are first come first serve.

I further hereby authorize a representative of the RSIOC to consent to medical treatment of the above-named student in the event of an emergency during the RSIOC Animation Summer Camp.

Food Agreement

Since the Future Leaders Academy goal is to teach advanced material, the Future Leaders Academy teachers need learning-ready children. Research suggests food high in sugars, preservatives, artificial sweeteners and/or flavor enhancers can cause behavioral difficulties in children and make learning difficult. Also, research suggests children tend to be happiest and perform the best when they are fed a balanced diet that includes protein, fruit, vegetables and carbohydrates. To help ensure my child is ready to learn:

I will provide food and drink for my child's snack(s) and lunch.
I will not send food or drink that has more than 6 grams of added sugars per package label serving (including cookies, candy, soft drinks, fruit juice, etc Added sugars include cane sugar, beet sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, fructose, molasses, honey, maple syrup, cane juice, etc.
I will not send food with artificial preservatives, artificial sweeteners, artificial colors, artificial flavorings, flavor enhancers and food additives for snacks or lunch. Artificial preservatives, flavorings and flavor enhancers include, but are not limited to, BHA, BHT, TBHQ, Splenda, Aspartame (Nutrasweet), Saccharine, and MSG (monosodium glutamate
I/we will only send unopened packages that include nutritional information on the outside of the packaging (or a copy of the label), if an item COULD have preservatives or more than 6 grams of added sugar. This step keeps Future Leaders Academy teachers from spending an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out if something meets the policy. Items in this category include applesauce, cakes (including banana, zucchini and other sweetened breads), cookies (of any type, small or large), granola/cereal bars, Cheetos, Doritos, other flavored chips, yogurt, and fruit juice.
