• 26-27 Student Matinee Request Form

  • Please fill out the questions below to request tickets for one of Portland Stage's upcoming student matinees.

    Tickets are $14 per person, and out of every 20 tickets purchased, 1 ticket is comped. The student matinee program includes access to a social narrative as well as PlayNotes, Portland Stage's resource guide, which includes focus questions and activities for students.

    You may also choose to include a pre or post show workshop for students with our professional teaching artists. The curriculum for these workshops will be specific to the production students are attending and can be flexible based on the needs of your classroom.

    The beloved American classic is presented as a live 1940s-style radio play. With the help of the town and an angel named Clarence, George Bailey discovers the importance of each person in their community. Join us for this heartwarming story that will inspire and delight young and old.

    A young medical student, Arthur Conan Doyle, tags along with his professor to investigate a murder. In this fast-paced whodunit, traveling from ballrooms to bogs, we hear the story of how the Real Sherlock Holmes came to be!

  • I am My Own Wife

    Doug Wright discovers the unsung story of Charlotte von Malsdorf, a trans woman, who lived openly in Germany during the Nazi and Stasi regimes. Composed of interviews with Mahlsdorf and others, this is a story that needs to be seen to be believed.

    In association with Compagnia de' Colombari, the team behind the remarkable Babette's Feast in 2018, Portland Stage is proud to present this actor-driven adaptation of one of Flannery O'Connor's final stories. This Southern Gothic tale revolves around Ruby Turpin, who judges the faults of everyone around her. One day, Ruby receives a revelation that the very people she judges will be the first to ascend to heaven on judgment day. Will this revelation change her heart? Or is it already too late?
