DESERT VIEWS JURY APPLICATION
The Desert Views Jury invites passionate film lovers from our local community to step into the role of "juror" by watching a curated selection of films from the Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) & ShortFest (SF). In the spirit of neighborliness, this initative aims to promote understanding and acceptance among people through the art of cinema.
As a juror, you'll be a part of a dynamic group that deliberates on the films, sharing your thoughts and opinions before selecting a winnner for the Desert Views Jury Award.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Local film enthusiasts who call the Desert their year-round home
- No prior filmmaking experience required – just a passion for film and discussion!
REQUIRED COMMITMENTS
Festival Dates: June 24-30, 2025
- Watch 8-10 short films virtually (Total viewing: 2 - 4 hours)
- Attend one in-person Jury Deliberation Meeting (1-2 hours in June, exact day/time TBD)
- Optional (but highly recommended!) - Attend the ShortFest Awards Brunch on Sunday, June 29th at the Renaissance Palm Springs
Festival Dates: January 2-13, 2026
- Watch 4-5 feature-length films at one of our screening venues (Total viewing time: 8-12 hours)
- Attend one in-person Jury Deliberation Meeting during the Festival (1-2 hours, exact day/time TBD)
