Please give as much detail as possible in all areas of this form. We want to make the most informed decision regarding suitability and ensure that if you are a fit for IBKC, we know which cats/kittens to place in your care. We truly appreciate the invaluable service that volunteer foster parents provide, thank you!

Feral and semi-feral cats/kittens will require socialisation. They may bite, scratch, or be otherwise unhappy with you until they feel safe. This can be very difficult and requires a lot of time, patience, and understanding.

If you are unfamiliar with looking after feral or semi-feral cats/kittens and wish to know more before committing, please speak with us and we can advise further.

Time in foster care can range from an overnight hold up to 30 days. If we have kitties waiting to be adopted, or who need socialising, this could be longer. How long are you able/willing to keep foster cats/kittens at a time? (We will always prioritize breaks between cases)
Our cats/kittens will come with a crate/pen if needed. When we have a family of kittens, they will usually all be together in one crate/pen - spread to two if there are many. Older socialised kittens or adult cats may not need crating. How many cats/kittens can you comfortably accommodate at one time?

Terms and Conditions of Fostering
By fostering these cat(s)/kitten(s), I am making a commitment to provide love, safety and care until they are adopted by IBKC to a permanent home.
I understand that fostered animals belong exclusively to IBKC, and also understand that if I become unable to care for my foster(s) I will alert IBKC with as much notice as possible so a new foster can be found.
I agree to return all foster(s) at once to IBKC upon request.
I will provide a clean bed, scratching post/cardboard scratcher and toys and will let IBKC know if I need assistance with any of these items. I will make sure toys with strings and feathers, and similar objects, are only used with supervision as if swallowed it could require serious medical attention.
I will scoop the litterbox at least once per day, make sure clean fresh water is always available, and will clean all food bowls between feeds. I will only feed my foster kitties what IBKC has provided, and only feed the amount advised, unless I have discussed with a committee member.
I must keep my foster cat(s)/kitten(s) indoors at all times. I will make sure they can't get out (unscreened windows, loose screens, cat door, front door, etc.). If for any reason my foster(s) gets out, I will alert IBKC immediately.
If my foster cat(s)/kitten(s) get out and are unable to be safely retrieved, I will cover the adoption fee if IBKC deems it necessary.
If I would like to introduce my foster cat(s)/kitten(s) to my own pets, I will discuss this with IBKC who will make the decision.
I will ensure unsupervised children do not have access to my foster(s)
I will always transport foster(s) in a secure carrier, and will get one from IBKC if I don't have one. I will never carry my foster(s) in my hands/arms outside of my home.
I agree to allow an authorized IBKC representative to visit my home to ensure the well-being of the fostered animal(s) and the suitability of the foster environment and the compliance with the terms of this Agreement if they wish to do so.
Health and Veterinary Care
I agree to familiarise myself with what vaccinations and worm and flea treatment the foster(s) require and make sure they receive these on time from an IBKC-authorised vet if necessary.
I agree to administer any medications my foster(s) may need as instructed by IBKC, and will not treat with anything that is not approved by IBKC.
I agree to transport my foster(s) to IBKC-approved Vets for appointments that are planned by IBKC, if a committee member cannot make it. Any appointments will be booked for a time that works for me.
I will alert IBKC IMMEDIATELY if my foster(s) is not eating, has diarrhea, vomits, is bleeding, is lethargic, feels unusually warm or cold, has nasal or eye discharge, is having difficulty breathing or breathing rapidly, or shows any other abnormal symptoms that could require medical attention. I will follow IBKC's direction for care or how to obtain veterinary services.
I understand that all veterinary care must be pre-authorized by IBKC. Services obtained without authorisation may be my financial responsibility. If my foster(s) require medical attention, I will immediately alert my IBKC contact.
If the foster sustains a life-threatening injury or illness, I agree to immediately seek emergency medical care at IBKC-approved Vets. However, I agree to consult with a IBKC representative as soon as possible and before authorising any major medical procedures.
Adoption
If I or someone I know is interested in adopting my foster(s), I will advise IBKC who will handle the adoption process and make all decisions.
I will assist in the adoption process by providing photos and a description of my foster(s) to IBKC if requested.
By submitting this form I agree that the information that I have provided in this application is complete and correct. I understand that any false information I have provided will invalidate this and any future applications. I understand the requirements and grant permission for Home Checks where necessary, both prior to and during fostering. I submit that if a Home Check reveals falsification or misrepresentation of any facts on my part, itty bitty kitty committee reserves the right to either refuse fostering or to nullify the fostering and reclaim said foster(s) from my premises. I understand that itty bitty kitty committee is not responsible for any damage done by my foster cat(s) to any of my property or my landlord(s) property including, but not limited to flooring, furniture, people, or other pets in my home.
