  • To confirm your citizenship status, you'll need to upload the appropriate documentation. Review the list of Acceptable Documents below to determine what you should upload.

  • Acceptable Documents

    • Citizens Born in the United States
      • Attach a copy of your US Birth Certificate, US Passport, or Passport Card (current)
    • Citizens Not Born in the United States
      • Attach a copy of your Form FS-240: Report of Birth Abroad of a US Citizen that bears the embossed seal, including the words "United States of America" and "State Department" OR
      • Attach a copy of your Certificate of Citizenship OR
      • Attach a copy of your Certificate of Naturalization OR
      • Attach a copy of your US Passport or Passport Card (current)
    • Non-Citizen Nationals (natives of American Samoa or Swains Island) or Permanent Residents of the Northern Mariana Islands or Permanent Residents of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (eligibility limited to grant aid, not eligible for student loans)
      • Attach a copy of your US Birth Certificate, Passport, or Passport Card
    • US Permanent Residents
      • Attach a copy of both sides of your Alien Registration Receipt Card (I-151, I-551, or I-551C) OR
      • Attach a copy of your passport, valid through the first day of courses, stamped "Processed for I-551..." including a copy of the picture identification page OR
      • Attach a copy of your Arrival/Departure Record (Form I-94) valid through the first day of courses, stamped "Processed for I-551..." showing the expiration date, or stamped "Temporary Form I-551 showing the expiration date.
    • Other Eligible Non-Citizens
      • Attach a copy of your Arrival/Departure Record (Form I-94) with a stamp indicating one of the following
        • Refugee (RE)
        • Asylum Granted (208INA)
        • Indefinite Parole and/or Humanitarian Parole (1797)
        • Cuban-Hatian Entrant, Status Pending (CHE)
        • T-Visa Holder (T2, T3)
        • Designated Human Trafficking Victim (T1, T2, T3, TCOA)
        • Battered Immigrants-Qualified Aliens (1360)

    The following are not Acceptable Documents to prove your citizenship status.

    • Social Security Card
    • Drivers License

    Students with the following statuses are ineligible for Financial Aid.

    • A student who is an Applicant for Permanent Resident Status and not in a category listed above
    • A student with an F1 or F2 (Student), J1 or J2 (Exchange Visitor), G Series, or M1 Student Visa
    • A student with a I-688, I-688A, I68B (Employment Authorization), H Series, or L Series Card
    • A student who is an Applicant under the "Voluntary Departure Under the Family Unity Program" (effective 1997-1998)
    • A student who is Undocumented
    • A student with an A2, A3, B1, B2, or NATO Visa
