Be a part of our school volunteer community! Volunteer opportunities range from one-time events to ongoing volunteer shifts. We have opportunities during the school day as well as evenings and weekends. Please indicate your interest by clicking the button to the right of each listing below. You will be added to our PFA volunteer list and will be contacted by the chair(s) on an as-needed basis or as the event committees are formed.

CARNIVAL: October 3, 2025 (recommended for JK-4): Co-chairs Carley Cagle and Janie Skillman. Carnival is held on the school campus in the Fall. Volunteers may be asked to assist with concessions, decorations, set up/tear down, student raffle, and serve as booth chairs or other jobs.

ADMISSIONS: Co-chairs Natalie Boenker and Keelie Montague. Volunteers may be asked to help with new parent activities throughout the year. You may help us greet prospective families at admissions events and open houses.

PUMPKIN PATCH: October 15 - 16, 2025 (recommended for JK-12): Co-chairs Jennifer Brezina and Rosanne Sherrieb. Volunteers will help paint and/or decorate pumpkins during the two weeks preceding the sale in the fall and will assist in selling the pumpkins and fall decorations.

CARE COMMITTEE: (recommended for JK-12): Co-chairs Elena McMurry, Laura Standish and Rebecca Green. Care Committee members may be asked to provide a meal or run an errand for a FWCD family in need, as called for by the occasion.

HOMECOMING MUMS: October 15, 2025 (recommended for US): Co-chairs Melissa Huffman and Alice Linker. Volunteers are needed to help with sale and distribution of mums for homecoming. Volunteers are needed throughout the summer and fall leading up to homecoming week.

NINTH GRADE HOMECOMING EVENT: October 18, 2025 (recommended for ninth grade parents): Co-chairs Caroline Lamsens and Carrie McPadden. Volunteers will be asked to help with planning the event, sign-ups, or chaperoning the evening of the event.

HOLIDAY SALE: December 12, 2025 (recommended for JK-6): Co-chairs Carrie Moore and Angie Contreras. Each December the PFA sponsors a sale that enables students JK-6 to shop for items for friends and family. Volunteers are needed to help make ornaments, source items, decorate, set up/tear down and work a sales shift.

BINGO: January 30, 2026 (recommended for JK-6): Co-chairs Keri Hickman and Andrea West. Bingo is a fundraising event for lower schoolers to build community. Volunteers may be asked to help obtain raffle items, decorate, run the games, set up, work the raffle and many other tasks.

FWCD PARTY: April 17, 2026 on campus (recommended for JK-12): Co-chairs Claire Berkes and Regan Landreth. Volunteers may be asked to assist in event planning, obtaining auction items, decorations, set up/tear down or check-in.

FOREVER PLAID USED UNIFORM SALE: August 15 and August 16, 2025 (recommended JK-12): Co-chairs Amanda Kinson and Sadie Upham. The PFA provides a central Lost & Found area and sells used uniforms at a greatly reduced price. Used uniforms are usually sold during the week or two before school starts and, during the school year, it is open on the first Wednesday of the month from 7:45 - 9:45 a.m. Volunteers are needed to assist the chairs with Lost and Found items and to staff the sale.

FDP LUNCH VOLUNTEERS: (recommended for K-4): Co-chairs Maria Mills and Lauren Moore. Volunteers assist teachers in the dining hall during Lower School lunch periods.
