The Gumbo of Giving: Mixing Passion, Purpose, and Philanthropy (The Holy Trinity) 2025 Call for Session Proposals
Thank you for your interest in submitting a session proposal for the New Orleans/Baton Rouge AFP Summer Conference, scheduled for Thursday, July 24th, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Marriott Warehouse Arts District. DEADLINE TO SUBMIT - Friday, June 6, 2025.
Nonprofit professionals are invited to submit proposals on a wide range of fundraising topics for the AFP Greater New Orleans/Baton Rouge Conference. We welcome (1 hour long) sessions that explore innovative strategies, donor engagement, major gifts, annual giving, grant writing, corporate partnerships, and planned giving. Proposals that highlight inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA), as well as sessions tailored to small shops or early-career fundraisers, are especially encouraged. Whether your expertise lies in data-driven fundraising, storytelling, or navigating ethical challenges, we invite you to share your insights to help strengthen our philanthropic community. Ethics and IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) are both pillars of the AFP Strategic Plan. As these ideals are core to our work and, therefore, to the New Orleans and Baton Rouge AFP Chapters, we ask that you think about your session topic through an Ethics lens and an IDEA lens and incorporate the principles/ideals of each into your proposal.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to share your expertise with our network of fundraising professionals and for the time devoted to submitting a session proposal. The following criteria are among those taken into consideration: * Current relevance to the profession and contribution to the conference program in terms of topic, sector, and experience level. * Evidence of innovative thinking and fresh insights. * Research-based content (where appropriate or relevant). * The incorporation of diverse ideas and perspectives across different specialities. * Knowledge and expertise of the speaker. * Previous speaking experience and session ratingsInclusion of adult learning principles, including interactivity/engagement with session attendees. *Diversity of speaker background, experiences, perspective, and ideasDemonstrated thought leadership in the field.
