TCP have planted a community orchard at the village cemetery.

Our Tree sculpture Melting Heart (Liquefactio cordis) has been named and made from recycled metal sourced from Tollesbury by local artist Simon Earney. The metal has come from various locations around the village such as an old railway chair spike from the crab and winkle railway line. Victorian wrought iron fencing from East Street, angled iron from Garlands Farm and other locations around the village. It was Installed in spring 2025.

We are giving you the opportunity to have an engraved plaque installed on our tree sculpture to celebrate a loved one or occassion. Each plaque is made in the UK from solid sheet brass and engraved with a bespoke message of your choice. For a one off fee plaques are placed on the tree by TCP. Proceeds from the plaque will go to fund the upkeep of the orchard.

The fee for a single plaque plus fixings to the sculpture is £60 including VAT. If you would like to order more than one plaque then please detail this below.

1. Purchase Agreement
By purchasing an engraved plaque on the tree sculpture, you (the "Purchaser") agree to the
following terms and conditions. These terms govern the creation, installation, and display of
your engraved sign on the designated tree sculpture.
2. Engraving Details
The Purchaser is responsible for submitting the exact text, name, or message to be
engraved.
- All text is subject to approval to ensure it complies with community standards,
  including but not limited to restrictions on offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate
  language.
- Font style, size, and placement will be determined by the sculpture’s design and the
  space available.
3. Customization and Proof Approval
- Purchasers will receive a proof of the engraving for approval before production.
- It is the Purchaser's responsibility to review and confirm all spelling, punctuation, and
  formatting. Once approved, the engraving will proceed as confirmed.
4. Installation and Placement
- The location of the engraved sign on the tree sculpture is at the discretion of the
  community orchard group installer to maintain artistic integrity and structural stability.
5. Maintenance and Longevity
- The engraved sign will be designed to withstand normal weather conditions;
  however, natural wear and aging over time is expected.
- In cases of vandalism, damage, or acts of nature, the Purchaser may be offered an
  option to replace the sign at an additional cost.
6. Ownership and Display Rights
- The engraved sign becomes a permanent part of the tree sculpture; the Purchaser
  does not own the sign or the sculpture itself.
- The sculpture and all its components (including the sign) remain the property of the
  Community orchard.
- The sculpture may be relocated, modified, or removed at the discretion of the owner,
  with reasonable efforts made to preserve and respect engraved contributions.
7. Refund and Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations before production begins may be eligible for a refund.
- Once engraving has commenced, no refunds will be issued.
- In the unlikely event that the sculpture project is canceled or discontinued,
Purchasers will be notified, and alternative options will be provided if possible.
8. Indemnification
The Purchaser agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the sculpture’s owner, project
managers, and associated parties from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising
from the purchase, engraving content, or display of the engraved sign.
9. Amendments
These Terms and Conditions are subject to change at any time. Purchasers will be
notified of any material changes that may impact their purchase.
