Studs owned by the children of stud principals participating in Beef Week, are permitted to display cattle on the same property at no additional cost but do not receive an entry in the Beef Week book. Entry fees are non-refundable but The Land will consider extenuating circumstances. COMMERCIAL HERDS/ ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES 6. Commercial herds and businesses associated with the beef cattle industry are encouraged to enter Beef Week and provide displays/demonstrations, however, entries will not be received from businesses offering products or services in competition to our sponsors. If in doubt, contact ACM livestock Channel Manager for a ruling. The entry fee is similar to the entry fee for studs. 7. It is suggested that commercial herds that sell lines of heifers and steers at auction or privately could benefit from participation. It could be in the interests of studs to have commercial clients open for inspection during Beef Week. CATTLE EXHIBITS 8. It is recommended that on-property displays comprise of sale bulls, stud sires, commercial cattle and a reasonable percentage of the breeding herd. 9. The cattle for inspection should be readily accessible to visitors either in the yards or in small paddocks. In the case of led stock, these should be tethered in areas suitable for the purpose. 10. Cattle on display should be appropriately identified with relevant details. PROPERTY IDENTIFICATION 11. It is recommended the large road signs, provided free of charge to each participant, be displayed at the entry to the property and/ or head of lane and/or at significant points on main roads on the day of inspection only. Two will be supplied to each property but additional supplies can be purchased. 12. The signs are to be removed immediately the member’s day has concluded. 13 . The hours of inspection will be 9.00am to 4.00pm in all zones. EXHIBITS & AUCTION SALES 14. Commercial exhibits on properties are allowed but displays or demonstrations of products or services deemed to be in opposition to sponsors will not be permitted. 15. Sponsors may request permissions to stage a display/ demonstration on your property on your Beef Week Day Open Day. 16. Auction sales including Helmsman sales are not permitted however private sales are encouraged. 17. Any program or activity which may impede the steady flow of visitors from one property to another is not permitted. 18. Participants planning displays or demonstrations that may be seen to be breaching conditions 14 to 17 should contact the ACM Livestock Channel Manager for verification. PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE 19. To participate, all properties and entities must carry Public Liability Insurance (that may be part of an existing general policy) to cover loss, damage or injury resulting from participation in Beef Week.
