Pet Sitting Agreement – Terms and Conditions
By booking services with The Planted RVT, the Client agrees to the following terms and conditions:
1. Services Provided
The Planted RVT provides in-home pet sitting and veterinary technician services as agreed upon at the time of booking. Services may include feeding, fresh water, administering medications, litter box or yard cleanup, exercise, enrichment, and basic home care tasks directly related to the pet’s care.
The Planted RVT is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and not a veterinarian. Veterinary diagnoses, prescriptions, and surgical procedures are not provided.
2. Payment Terms
Payment is due as outlined at the time of booking. Services must be paid in full prior to or at the start of the service period unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Holiday rates, extended visit rates, or additional fees may apply and will be communicated in advance.
Mileage fees may apply for services outside the standard service radius.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations must be made within 72 hours. Late cancellations may be subject to partial or full service charges.
No refunds will be issued for early returns from trips or shortened service periods once services have begun.
4. Access to Home
The Client agrees to provide safe and reliable access to the home. The Planted RVT is not responsible for damages resulting from faulty locks, doors, gates, or security systems.
If access cannot be gained at the scheduled time, additional fees may apply.
5. Pet Health and Veterinary Care
The Client certifies that all pets are up to date on required vaccinations and are free of contagious illness unless previously disclosed.
In the event of illness or injury, The Planted RVT will attempt to contact the Client immediately. If the Client cannot be reached, The Planted RVT is authorized to seek veterinary care at the Client’s preferred veterinarian or nearest emergency clinic.
The Client accepts full financial responsibility for veterinary expenses incurred during the service period. More information can be found in the veterinary treatment authorization form.
6. Medications and Medical Conditions
All medications and medical conditions must be disclosed prior to the start of services. While The Planted RVT will make every reasonable effort to administer medications as directed, the Client understands that animals may resist or react unexpectedly.
The Planted RVT is not liable for complications arising from pre-existing conditions or undisclosed medical issues.
7. Aggressive or Unsafe Behavior
The Client agrees to disclose any history of aggression, biting, or destructive behavior. The Planted RVT reserves the right to terminate services immediately if a pet poses a safety risk.
If services are terminated due to aggression or unsafe conditions, no refund will be provided.
8. Home Environment and Safety
The Client is responsible for maintaining a safe home environment. The Planted RVT is not responsible for injuries to pets caused by hazards within the home or yard.
The Client agrees to secure other service providers (cleaners, maintenance workers, etc.) during the service period unless otherwise arranged.
9. Property Damage
The Planted RVT is not responsible for damage caused by pets to the Client’s home or property during the service period.
The Client agrees to reimburse The Planted RVT for any damages to equipment or personal property caused by their pet.
10. Emergencies and Natural Disasters
In the event of severe weather, natural disaster, or other emergency circumstances beyond control, The Planted RVT will make reasonable efforts to care for the pets but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
11. Photos and Social Media
The Planted RVT may take photos of pets during services for documentation or promotional purposes. No identifying personal information will be shared without permission.
Clients may request in writing that their pets not be featured on social media.
12. Limitation of Liability
The Planted RVT shall not be held liable for loss, injury, death, or actions of pets that are unpredictable in nature, except in cases of proven negligence.
