  • The President's Award recognizes the efforts of a service delivery team or committee whose exemplary Service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience surpassed team gols and resulted in significiant, measurable impact toward reaching the council's overall goals.

     

    Criteria: Excellence in Membership growth, Programming and Volunteer Training and Support. A strong, effective Service Unit Team that exemplifies the Girl Scout Law.

  • Format: (000) 000-0000.
  • Did the service unit complete these items:

  • All service team members and leaders are registered Girl Scouts*
  • The following SU team positions are filled: SU Manager, Finance Manager, School Recruiters, Fall Product Coordinator, Cookie Coordinator, New Troop Mentor, and Delegate (*IRG Mentor highly recommended).*
  • All adult members of the service unit have completed appropriate training for the positions they hold.*
  • Overall membership of the service unit reflects the diversity of the community.*
  • Overall girl membership for the service unit reached or surpassed the membership goal agreed upon by the service unit team and the staff Membership Manager by September 30.*
  • Recruitment: Recruitments were hosted at 95% of the elementary schools within the SU jurisdiction.*
  • Retention: Delivery of Girl Scout program is effective, resulting in the retention of 65% or more of girl members and 65% or more of adult leadership. Retention increase of 5% is acceptable if 65% retention is unrealistic.*
  • Programming: Events are designed, planned and hosted using the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.*

  • The service unit actively promotes the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards to eligible girls in their region, and both supports and recognizes girls’ efforts throughout the process.*
  • The service unit has evidence of maintaining and/or cultivating contacts in the community (i.e. scheduled talks to community groups/schools, participation at community events/fairs, etc.).*
  • Financial Health: Service unit financial reports and product sale reports are submitted on time.*
  • Ninety-five percent (95%) of all troop financial reports were turned into the service unit financial consultant or service unit manager by May 31, 2026.*
  • Product Sales Participation: Ninety-five percent (95%) of troops registered by March 1, 2026 participated in the council-sponsored Cookie Program. Service unit must provide a list of all registered troop/group numbers as of March 1, 2026.*
  • Fifty-five percent (55%) of troops registered participated in the council-sponsored Fall Product Program.*
  • Volunteer Training and Support: All new Troop Leaders are welcomed into the Service Unit with an orientation and Investiture Ceremony.*
  • The service unit team maintains ongoing communication with troop/group leadership utilizing a variety of methods that serves the needs of the area adults (regularly scheduled meetings, email, mailings, telephone, etc.)*
  • Supports volunteer appreciation within their service unit by submitting nominations for annual recognitions and/or hosting a local recognition/appreciation event for adult volunteers.*
  • Council Relations: SU Manager and team worked cooperatively with the council Membership Manager assigned to their area. SUM/team followed all Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoint guidelines and ensured troop leaders did the same. Violations of policies and conflicts were relayed to the MM immediately.*
  • Marketing/PR: SUM/team will share stories of SU events, community service projects, scholarships, attendance at community events such as parades, etc., with their MM, troopscoop@gseok.org and/or the Marketing Department of GSEOK.*
