Emergency Housing On-Demand was founded on an illegal eviction proceeding of a VAWA tenant by an leasing agent uninformed about VAWA rights. The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) is for men and women with or without children. Homeless persons defined by Title 42.11302(a)(b) may acquire immediate housing such as unemployed dependents escaping from domestic violence. This free public service allows you and/or your children to be immediately be housed by either accessing an access to an emergency safe house or by printing a legal VAWA lease addendum to give to a covered housing provider of your choice in the United States. Using this services is ideal for VAWA survivors wishing to begin a new life as there are program activities that are recommended for survivors to engage to help you prepare to obtain and sustain affordable long-term affordable housing. Upon submission, take the VAWA Lease Addendum to any one of the following HUD covered housing providers listed below in the United States. WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY To receive emergency housing on-demand you must be able to certify your domestic violence case followed by supporting documents such as a police report, protection order, personal identification such as birth certificate and drivers license, or Social Security Card, etc. If you are already receiving housing assistance through one of the following HUD programs, you will be required to complete HUD Form 5383. Covered housing program includes the following HUD programs: o Public Housing o Tenant-based vouchers (TBV, also known as Housing Choice Vouchers or HCV) and Project-based Vouchers (PBV) Section 8 programs o Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) o Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Single Room Occupancy o Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly o Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities o Section 221(d)(3)/(d)(5) Multifamily Rental Housing o Section 236 Multifamily Rental Housing o Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) program o HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) program o The Housing Trust Fund o Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) program o Continuum of Care program o Rural Housing Stability Assistance program Covered housing provider means the individual or entity under a covered housing program that is responsible for providing or overseeing the VAWA protection in a specific situation. The covered housing provider may be a public housing agency, project sponsor, housing owner, mortgagor, housing manager, State or local government, public agency, or a nonprofit or for-profit organization as the lessor.
