  • 2025 SEAfaring Summer Sailing Camps Participation Contract

    Qualifications: SEAfaring Summer Sailing Camp participants must be between 13 and 18 years of age (entering 8th-12th grade in 2025/2026 school year) during the program.  18 year-old participants must be rising seniors, not high school graduates.

    Transportation: Transportation to and from the ship is the responsibility of the participants.

    Tuition: a non-refundable payment of $250 is due upon registration. Please submit tuition payment through the link provided below.

    Cancellations or needing to change weeks: must be received by June 15, 2025. Any changes needed made after June 15, 2025 will be reviewed on a case by case basis in order to determine availability for another week.

    Medical Form: All participants must have a physical examination within 6 months of the sailing date, and a completed medical form, signed by a physician, returned by June 15, 2025. It is understood that, unless otherwise indicated on the medical form, the participant is in good health and may actively participate in all the activities onboard. Any information which may be pertinent to the participant’s welfare must be provided on the medical form. If participant’s medical status has changed prior to joining the vessel, please email harveygamage@wiscassetschools.org or call 207-882-7722 to have information on the participant's medical form updated. 

    Medication: It is the parent/guardians’ responsibility to state all medications that will be taken by the participant on the medical form and send enough medication with the participant for the duration of the program.

    Prohibited Items: The following items are not allowed: Fishing Gear, Scuba Gear, Tobacco, Illegal Drugs, Alcohol, and Electronic Equipment such as: Electronic Games, mp3 players, IPods, DVD players, computers, radios, etc. Cell Phones are allowed for travel to and from the ship, but must be turned into the Captain upon boarding the ship. Phone time will be allowed when not underway.

    Participant Acceptance:

    SEAfaring Camps are physically and mentally challenging programs that require all participants to meet a minimum level of fitness. Admissions are made without regard to race, color, gender, religion, sex, or national origin. The Marine Learning Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing programs of education under sail.

    Space is limited and will be filled with qualified participants on a first come first served basis. If accepted to the program, you will receive an acceptance letter and information packet in the mail. The packet will help you to prepare for this experience.

    Conditions of Enrollment: My child and I understand and agree to the following:

    1. The program fee will be submitted with this registration and a returned payment will be an additional charge of $25.

    2. I/My child may be dismissed from the program for use or possession of illegal drugs or misuse of over the counter drugs, and for possession or use of alcohol or tobacco.

    3. I/My child can be dismissed from the program for sexual misconduct, or physical abuse of any kind to one-self or to another individual, or for bullying or mental abuse.

    4. This program is premised on active involvement and immersion in the ship’s life style. If at any time I am/my child is uninterested or uncooperative, they may be dismissed from the program.
