Bike Delaware - Photo Contest

Take your shot. Tell a story. Inspire change.

Bike Delaware invites cyclists, photographers, and everyday riders to participate in our first-ever Photography Competition — a celebration of the people, places, and possibilities that make bicycling in Delaware so powerful. As we advocate for a more bike-friendly Delaware, we know that images move people — they tell stories, reveal challenges, and inspire connection. That’s why we’re building a rich library of photos that reflect all aspects of cycling in Delaware.
We're looking for a variety of subjects, including:
- People on bikes — from solo rides to family outings to community event
- Scenic paths and infrastructure — trails, bridges, signage, bike racks
- Places Bike Delaware has helped shape — like the Jack A. Markell Trail, Industrial Track, or Wilmington–New Castle Greenway
- Barriers to access — missing links, unsafe crossings, areas in need of improvement
- Cycling culture — group rides, kids learning to bike, bikes + nature, public art, community action
Whether your image was taken on a camera or a phone, we want to see moments that are vibrant, thought-provoking, and deeply connected to the biking experience in our state. And we're focusing on photos IN Delaware State.

Judging & Prizes:

Photos will be evaluated by a jury of representatives from the Delaware Photographic Society and the Bike Delaware Board, based on:
- Creativity
- Composition
- Technical quality
- Relevance to the theme of biking in Delaware
- Winners will receive prizes and public recognition — including features on our website, social media, and campaign materials.
Prizes include gift cards to well-known Delaware restaurants and shops:

1st Place: $200 Gift Card
2nd Place: $100 Gift Cards
3rd Place: $50 Gift Cards

How to Enter:

The program will run through the end of October, but we encourage you to submit photos ASAP, as we will be viewing submissions and using images throughout the summer. The entry form is below.

Final entries: January 1
Winners announced: February 1

You can submit up to 10 properly formatted images that capture the spirit of biking in Delaware. Winning images will be selected by a panel of judges from the Delaware Photographic Society and Bike Delaware board members.

By submitting, you grant Bike Delaware the rights to use your images in future projects and promotional materials to advocate for safe cycling. Submit your best shots and showcase the joy of cycling in Delaware!
