Could Your Chronic Pain Be Neuroplastic?

All pain is real. Pain is generated and processed in the brain in response to signals from the body. Sometimes, the brain can misinterpret normal or non-threatening signals as harmful—resulting in persistent pain without ongoing tissue damage. This is known as neuroplastic pain. Our bodies are more robust and resilient than we think and most injuries will heal completely within six to twelve weeks or less. In some people, pain or illness fails to improve because the brain has become 'stuck' and is overamplifying safe sensations in the body.
