Schools staff are expected to promote a positive climate and culture to ensure the students are afforded the opportunity to grow socially and academically in our Enrichment Days program. By utilizing restorative practices and positive behavioral supports, the staff assists our students in building resiliency and gain self-regulation management skills that will enable them to develop behaviors that will likely engage in less misconduct.
Campus administrators should intervene with the appropriate disciplinary response geared towards prevention and intervention based on the student's academic and social emotional needs. However, we understand that there are no simple solutions when dealing with the intricacies of
child development.
Students attending the Enrichment Days program are expected to adhere to the same discipline standards as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct: https://studentpsjaisd.sharepoint.com/the-cube/teacher-resources/student-services
Failure to comply with the discipline standards will result in the student’s dismissal from the Enrichment Days program. If the infraction represents a mandatory removable or expellable offense, the student may be placed in the appropriate disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP) or juvenile justice alternative education program (JJAEP) at the beginning of the fall semester of the upcoming school year pending a student hearing at the district level.
Students assigned to a DAEP in which the period of placement extends into the next school year must have approval of the designated superintendent’s representative and/or principal to attend the Enrichment Days program at their home campus. Similarly, students expelled for a period in which the placement extends into the next school year are only eligible to attend the home campus Enrichment Days program if the JJAEP does not offer a summer program.
