    Theme: Grounded in Experience, United for Impact
    Conference Dates: August 30 - September 2, 2026
    Location: The Ohioan Hotel & Event Center - Columbus, Ohio

    We invite you to submit a proposal for a concurrent workshop presentation at the 2026 ICJA Conference. Workshops will take place Monday, August 31 - Wednesday, September 2, 2026. (Pre-conference sessions are scheduled separately for Sunday, August 30.)

    Workshops should reflect an evidence-informed approach and connect with this year's theme. Priority will be given to sessions that demonstrate collaboration across disciplines, systems, communities, and impacted groups to improve reentry outcomes. 


    Topics of Interest
    Possible areas include innovative and evidence-based:

    • Reentry strategies
    • Safe housing
    • Behavioral health
    • Education
    • Employment initiatives
    • Addressing needs of special populations (e.g., elderly, women & families, LGBTQ+, youth, people with disabilities, sex offenders)
    • Lived-experience–informed policy, research, and practice
    • Family and community engagement
    • Trauma-informed, strength-based interventions
    • Programs that build connection and promote positive outcomes
    • Using metrics and research to guide practice
    • Tools to navigate change and strengthen organizational impact
    • International approaches to reentry


    Workshop Format
    90 minutes total (75-minute presentation, 15-minute Q&A)
    May include lecture, panel, or interactive session
    All sessions must include audience engagement

    About the Conference
    ICJA’s 2026 Conference will welcome about 300 participants, including community corrections leaders, people with lived experience, behavioral health and housing professionals, employment specialists, researchers, advocates, and government representatives.

    A special speaker rate will be offered; all speakers are encouraged to attend the full conference. Presenters and attendees are responsible for travel and lodging.

    Proposal Requirements
    Please complete the form and include:

    • Presentation title
    • Short biography for each presenter
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV) for accreditation
    • Abstract (minimum 400 words) 
    • Any technical or special requirements

    All submissions will be reviewed by the Conference Committee for final selection.

    *The association will NOT be providing laptops for each workshop room, please plan on bringing your own.
