These free legal services are made possible by generous funding from the City of Portland. The consultation will be a 30 minute appointment with an immigration attorney or accredited representative.   • SOAR Immigration Legal Services Consultation Agreement 

    I understand that: 

    • I will be meeting with an attorney or DOJ accredited representative for a legal consultation. There is no consultation fee. 

    • During the consultation I will be provided with legal advice and/or a referral to an appropriate attorney or agency. 

    • SOAR Immigration Legal Services (SOAR Legal) cannot take every case. Generally, SOAR Legal takes eligible citizenship, family reunification, adjustment of status (green card), temporary protected status (TPS), humanitarian parole, employment authorization (work permits), deferred action for childhood arrivals, Cuban removal defense, and asylum referrals. There may be exceptions to this list. 

    • If SOAR Legal is able to take my case, there may be additional fees. 

    • SOAR Legal only serves low-income individuals (below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level). I will share honest information about my income and financial difficulties with SOAR staff to verify that I am eligible for services. 

    • I will not become a SOAR Client until I sign a retainer (legal services) agreement.
