AFRICA GREEN SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS SURVEY - STUDENTS
The All-Africa Students Union (AASU) in collaboration with the ACQF-II Project is undertaking an initiative titled "Greening Skills and Qualifications in Africa – Users’ Engagement." This initiative aims to gather the perspectives of different stakeholders on integrating green skills and qualifications into African education systems to support the ultimate objective, which is to propose measures that align these systems with the requirements of the emerging green economy, emphasizing sustainability, climate action, climate justice, and the inclusion of indigenous knowledge.This survey is designed to gather insights from student stakeholders, facilitating a deeper understanding and effective implementation of the ACQF-II project objectives. Your identity and responses will be kept strictly confidential, used solely for research purposes, and reported anonymously to safeguard your privacy and to ensure honest and open dialogue.
1. T-VET: Technical and Vocational Education and Training 2. Green skills refer to the knowledge and talents required to perform in jobs that promote environmental sustainability and a green economy. 3. A green job is a career path or position that has an element, or wholly focused on, protecting nature, reducing waste and pollution, or using natural resources more wisely. 4. NGO: Non-Governmental Organization 5. Green economy is an economic system that promotes sustainable development while reducing environmental harm. 6. Renewable Energy: Energy from natural sources that are constantly replenished, like the sun, wind, and water. 7. Eco-Business: A business that operates in environmentally friendly ways and supports sustainability. 8. Eco-entrepreneurship: Starting and running businesses that create environmental benefits and promote sustainable practices. 9. Green Technologies: Technologies that reduce environmental harm by saving energy, lowering pollution, and using resources more sustainably. 10. Climate action refers to efforts and initiatives aimed at mitigating climate change and its impacts through reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainability.
