    Adult Co-Ed Softball Rules and Regulations

    Welcome to the Wrightwood Adult Softball Program. This program is based on fun and exercise for all individuals involved. Our goal is to provide the Wrightwood community with a safe, healthy and enjoyable experience for all players.     RULES AND REGUATIONS POLICY STATEMENT

    The WCSD reserves the right to make any changes deemed necessary to ensure the safety of the participants and/or operation of the league. If changes are made, updates will be emailed to all league players.  These rules are based off USA Softball Slow Pitch Rules in conjunction with USSSA Slow Pitch Mixed Team Rules. USA Softball Slow Pitch rules shall govern in all instances where specific league rules are not listed.

    GAME SITE INFORMATION & REGULATIONS

    All Softball Leage Games will be played at Wrightwood Elementary School.

    1175 Highway 2, Wrightwood, CA 92397

    Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the field dugout or at the adjacent park, before, during or after games.  No glass bottles of any kind are allowed. Smoking is prohibited while on school grounds. No dogs are allowed on school grounds, on the field or in the dug out. Teams are responsible for enforcing these regulations upon themselves.

     

    LEAGUE SHEDULE AND RESCHUDLING INFORMATION

    1.      League play will consist of 9 regular season games followed by an end of season single elimination playoff tournament for a total of 10 playable days.

    2.      The game schedule in the event of no rescheduling is August 17th, August 24th, LABOR DAY - NO GAMES, September 7th, September 14th, September 21st, September 28th, October 5th, October 12th, October 19th with the Play off tournament October 26th.

    3.      Rescheduling weather-canceled games: Only one reschedule weather canceled game will occur. The weather canceled games will be rescheduled for October 26th and push the play off tournament to November 4th. 

    4.      There will be no rescheduling outside of the above listed parameter.

    5.      Teams must be available to play at all scheduled game times listed.

  • MINIMUM NUMBER OF PLAYERS & ROSTER

    1.      You must be 18 years or older to play prior to the date of the first game.

    2.      The minimum is 12 players and no more than 17 players per team, you must meet the requirement of at least 4 men and 4 women per team. Players will be taken at a first come first serve bases utill the maximum amount of players is met per team. 

    3.      Teams are required to submit their official roster before the registration deadline Aug 13th by email. Players will not be allowed to be on more than one roster per season.

    4.      Teams must have a minimum of eight players to begin and continue a game. 

    a.      Example of appropriate configurations:

           8 players- 4 men, 4 women

           9 players- 4 men, 5 women

           9 players- 5 men, 4 women

           10 player- 5 men, 5 women

           10 players- 4 men, 6 women

           10 players- 6 men, 4 women

    b.     There must be a minimum of 4 men and 4 women per team for a game to begin.

  • CODE OF CONDUCT/ SPORTSMANSHIP

    ALL THE RULES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. THE “INDIVIDUAL” INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: PLAYER, OR SPECTATOR. A TEAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF ITS INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS AND SPECTATORS. MISCONDUCT MAY RESULT IN PENALIZING AN INDIVIDUAL OR TEAM FROM ALL WRIGHTWOOD COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT LEAUGE TOURNAMENTS AND CLASSES. THE TERM” OFFICIAL” INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: UMPIRE & WRIGHTWOOD COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT EMPLOYEE.

    No Individual Shall:

    1. At any time lay a hand upon, shove, strike or threaten an official or individual.

         i.      Minimum Penalty- Removed from league play for (1) calendar year and placed on (2) year probationary period.

         ii.      Maximum Penalty- Banned from the  Wrightwood Community Services District programs and assault charges filed.

    2. Be guilty of objectionable demonstration of dissent by throwing gloves, balls, bats- or any other forceful actions.

          i.      Minimum Penalty- Warning by official.

          ii.      Maximum Penalty- Ejection from game and playing field and (1) game suspension

    3. Be guilty of using unnecessary rough tactics in the play of the game.

          i.      Minimum Penalty- Ejection from game and playing field and (1) game suspension

        ii.      Maximum Penalty- Banned from the Wrightwood Community Services District programs and assault charges filed.

    4. Be guilty of an abusive verbal attack any official or individual on or off the field of play.

           i.      Minimum Penalty- Ejected from game and playing area, (2) game suspension and probation for the season.

           ii.      Maximum Penalty- Suspension for (1) full year and placed on

    5. Use profane, obscene or vulgar language in any manner at any time on or off the playing field.

          i.      Minimum Penalty- Warning by league official

          ii.      Maximum Penalty- Ejected from game and playing area, (2) game suspension and probation for the season.

    6. Appear on the field in an intoxicated condition or under the influence of any type of drug that will infringe on the players’ safety or safety of others.

         i.      Minimum Penalty- Ejection from the game and probation for the remainder of the season.

        ii.      Maximum Penalty- Banned from the Wrightwood Community Services District program.

    7. Drink alcoholic beverages during a scheduled game OR have an open container of alcohol on school grounds.

        i.      Minium Penalty- Ejection from game and placed on probation for (2) consecutive games.

         ii.      Maximum Penalty- Suspension for one full year and placed on probation for (6) months after reinstatement.

    8.Be guilty of any demonstration of unsportsmanlike conduct.

           i.      Minium Penalty- Warning by official

           ii.      Maximum Penalty- Banned from the Wrightwood community Services District program.

    9.  Failure to adhere to any request or directives from Wrightwood Comunity Services District or Officials.

          i.      Minimum Penalty- Warning by official.

          ii.      Maximum Penalty- Banned from Wrightwood Community Services District program.

  • I {fullName3}, on behalf of myself, my participating children, and my personal representatives, heirs, and next of kin ("Participant"), in consideration of being permitted to participate, use, and/or observe in any way in the services, programs, facilities, and/or equipment("Park Activities") owned, leased, offered, organized, conducted by and/or affiliated with the WRIGHTWOOD COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTICT ("WCSD"), agree as follows:

    1. Participant acknowledges, agrees, and represents that Participant has inspected and carefully considered the premises, equipment, and facilities for the Park Activities and that Participant  finds and accepts same as being safe and reasonably suited for the use or participation by Participant.

    2.Participant acknowledges, agrees and represents that Participant has inspected and carefully considered the premises, equipment, and facilities for the Park Activities and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such Park Activities. I further agree and warrant that if at any time I believe conditions to be unsafe or unhealthy, I will immediately discontinue further participation in the Park Activities.

    3.Participant fully understands that: (a) the risks and dangers of the Park Activities may be caused by my own actions or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating in the Park Activities, the condition in which the Park activities take place, or the negligence of the Releasees named below; and (b) there may be other medical risks and social and economic losses either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time and I full accept and assume all such risks and all responsibility for losses, costs and damages I incur as a result of my participation in the Park Activities.

    4. Participant on behalf of Participant and Participant's descendants, ancestors, dependents, heirs, spouses, executors, administrator, agents, servants, employees, representatives, assigns, and successors ("the Releasors"), herby releases, discharges and covenants not to sue WCSD, its administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, employees, contractors, consultants, other participants, any sponsors or advertisers and, if applicable, owner and lessor of premises on which the Park Activities take place, and their respective predecessors, successors, affiliates, subsidiaries, parents, corporations, companies and divisions, and each and all of  their respective current and former officers, directors, administrators, assigns, agents, servants, stockholders, employees, insurers, attorneys, representatives, and successors (each considered one of the "Releasees" herein) from all liability, claims, demands, losses or damages on my account caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by my participation in the Park Activities and any negligence of the whole or in part by my participation in the Park Activities and any negligence of the participants or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations, and I further agree that i, despite this release and waiver of liability, assumption of risk and indemnity agreement I, the Participant, or anyone on my behalf, makes a claim against any of the Releasees, I will indemnify WCSD of any liability due to acts or omissions, save and hold harmless each of the Releasees from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage or cost which may incur as the result of such claim.

    By signing below, Participant hereby voluntarily agrees to participate in Park activities in a manner consistent with the instructions and directions of representative from WCSD and irrevocably assumes all risk in connection therewith and extinguishes all rights and claims against WCSD as follows:

    1. Participant and the Releasors herby fully, irrevocably, and unconditionally, release and forever discharge the Releasees from any and all demands, damages, debts, liabilities, obligations, contracts, agreements, actions, causes of action, suits, judgement, liens, indebtedness, losses, cost, and claims of whatever nature, character, or description, whether known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, foreseen, suspected or unsuspected, fixed or contingent, which Participant and the Releasors now have or may hereafter have or claim to have against the Releasees arising out of or related to the Park Activities and the administration and coordination thereof WCSD.

    2. Participant acknowledges that this Release was entered into voluntarily, and expressly acknowledges that he/she has been informed and is familiar with the provisions of Section 1542 of the California civil Code which provides as follows:

         A GENERAL RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS THAT THE

         CREDITOR OR RELEASING PARTY DOES NOT KNOW OR SUSPECT TO           EXIST IN HIS OR HER FAVOR ST THE TIME OF EXECTING THE RELEASE       AND THAT, IF KNOWN BY HIM OR HER, WOULD HAVE MATERIALLY               AFFECTED HIS OT HER SETTLEMENT WITH THE DEBTOR OR RELEASED         PARTY. 

    Participant expressly waives the provisions of California Civil Code Section 1542, as well as all similar protections under the law, and further waives any rights that he/she may have to invoke said provisions now or in the future with respect to the releases set forth herein. Participant recognizes and understands that factors which have induced him/her to enter into this release may turn out to be incorrect or different from what he/she had previously anticipated, and Participant expressly assumes all of said risks, including the risks of this waiver of California Civil Code Section 1542, and thus assumes full responsibility for any resulting liabilities.

    3. In the event of ana accident, injury, or illness, WCSD and its agents do not assume any responsibility or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to, medical, health, or disability insurance, in the event of an accident, injury, illness, death or property damage. 

    4. WCSD shall not be held liable or responsible to Releasees or to any other party for any losses incurred or damages sustained as a direct or indirect result of the Park Activities, and Participant shall indemnity WCSD and Releasees against, and hold them harmless from, any and all liabilities, damages, cost, expenses, and debts, including, without limitation, attorneys' fees, arising by reason thereof or resulting therefrom. 

    5. This Release shall be considered as if it was jointly prepared by both WCSD and the Participant and any uncertainty and/or ambiguity shall not be interpreted against the party responsible for its drafting. This Release shall be binding upon the Participant and the Releasors and shall be interpreted, enforced, and governed by and under the laws of the State of California.

  •  I have carefully read this agreement, waiver, and release and fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between myself, and the Wrightwood Community Services District and I sign it of my free will.

    I further understand and agree that I must abide by all applicable district ordinances, rules, regulations, and code of conduct found on wrightwoodcsd.org, and that continued participation is subject to such compliance. All participants are required to read and abide by the terms and conditions of the WCSD Softball League Rules & Sportsmanship Code of Conduct.

    By signing below, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the terms and conditions to participate in the league. By signing, you agree that if you are in violation of any of the terms and conditions of these agreements, you will be subject to the consequences outlined in the aforementioned documents.

  • TEAM MANAGER- There is one team manager per team

    1. A team manager is chosen by the team before the first game, once chosen the designated team manager will contact the recreations coordinator via email.

    2. A team manager is responsible for communication with the umpire during a game.

    3. A team manager is responsible for communication with the WCSD.

    4. The team manager will hold the above responsibilities for the entire season.

    5. Both the visitor and home team managers are required to sign the score sheet after the game for verification of correct scores being reported.

    6. It is the team manager’s responsibility to check that their roster is correct before the start of a game.

    7. Team managers are required to inform the Recreation Coordinator of any forfeits via email before 12pm Friday before game  day.

    8. Team manager and umpire signatures acknowledge the final score and the outcome of the game.

    9. The home team manager is responsible for re-chalking the field prior to each game, if necessary

    *If no team manager is chosen during registration the recreations coordiantior will reach out to the team to ensure one is picked.
