Volunteering for Community-Supported Summer Food Program in 2025
For Northshore School District Families
To support families in need of food this summer, multiple community organizations and volunteers have come together to ensure that no Northshore student goes hungry. We need volunteers to pack boxes and deliver them to family homes from the end of June to the end of August. If you can volunteer, please complete the JotForm. Your help is very much appreciated.
Volunteer Job Responsibilities
Pack Boxes
Following the instructions of the packing coordinator, add items to cardboard boxes and seal them. Expected volunteer time is up to 2 hours at each packing session, with exact time and location details communicated by the packing coordinator. This work will take place in groups at community locations.
Deliver Boxes
Pick up full boxes at a community location and deliver to family home addresses assigned to you between Friday and Sunday of the week selected. You will need reliable transportation. Please be prepared to deliver up to 10 boxes to Northshore families. This will takes up to 1 to 2 hours per delivery day. You will contact the family ONLY if needed. Otherwise, just drop the box at the door. Follow the instructions given by the delivery coordinator. In addition, volunteers delivering to homes must be an approved Level 1 NSD volunteer and submit a confidentiality form. NSD staff will work with individuals to complete these requirements. Packing Coordinator
Coordinate details needed with the community organization hosting the packing, and communicate with volunteers about what to expect, including the exact times and locations. In addition, volunteers delivering to homes must be an approved Level 1 NSD volunteer and submit a confidentiality form. NSD staff will work with individuals to complete these requirements. Delivery Coordinator
Meet volunteers at an assigned location and give instructions to the volunteers on delivering boxes to family home addresses. Be on call to help volunteers troubleshoot finding homes as needed. Receive confirmation from volunteers and sign off on the completion of delivery. In addition, volunteers delivering to homes must be an approved Level 1 NSD volunteer and submit a confidentiality form. NSD staff will work with individuals to complete these requirements.
