Scholarship Qualifications & About: Sometimes we forget our grandparents and great grandparents were young once too and have many stories before even our parents were born. Engaging and communicating with your elders is important. Knowing your family history is something Alexis is encouraging with her SI.
Alzheimer’s is a brain disease that effects 7 million people in America. This disease steals memories from older people. This scholarship is to remember those who have this devastating disease and to encourage young people to get to know their older family members and appreciate and learn about their own family history and the legacy their grandparents will leave behind.

Application Requirements

Write a one page essay, in PDF format, explaining why you think the relationship with older family members is important to maintain. Describe a special relationship you have with someone older in your own family and name two things that are unique to your family history.
