Scholarship Qualifications & About: 

The For the Love of Ryan Scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Ryan Webster, an 11-year-old boy whose selfless act of kindness continues to inspire and save lives. In 1998, Ryan made a heartfelt promise to his mom after watching a talk show about organ donation, expressing his desire to become a donor if anything ever happened to him. Just two weeks later, Ryan tragically passed away from a sudden brain aneurysm, but his decision to give the gift of life through organ donation changed the lives of many.

This scholarship embodies Ryan’s visionary spirit, aiming to support Miss Texas' Teen contestants who exemplify his generosity, compassion, and drive to make a lasting impact. It is designed to empower young women who are committed to advocating for life-saving causes, educating their communities, and leading with purpose  just as Ryan did through his ultimate act of love.
