KWCA Hall of Fame Nomination Form
  • KWCA HALL OF FAME NOMINATION

    The Hall of Fame is maintained by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association and recognizes excellence in competing, coaching, and contributing to the sport of wrestling in Kansas. If your candidate is selected for induction into the Hall of Fame, it will be announced in the spring and then the formal induction ceremony will occur the following fall at the KWCA Banquet.
  • The nomination window for the Hall of Fame is from January 1st until March 1st.

  • Please complete this form to nominate a wrestler, contributor, or coach to the Hall of Fame.

    Nominations will be accepted from January 1st through March 1st. Each candidate is carefully assessed by the KWCA Executive Board to determine the degree to which they fulfill each of the requirements according to the criteria established. Announcements will be made in the spring.

    To be officially inducted, the award winner must be present at the KWCA Awards banquet in the fall.

     

    SELECTION CRITERIA

    ATHLETES 

          REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be completed with college athletic eligibility or retired from competing
    • Must have wrestled competitively at the high school level in Kansas.
    • Must accept the invitation to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony

    PROFILE:

    • Multiple-Time State Champion
    • Accolades at the national level during high school in commonly recognized events (Fargo, Super 32, for example)
    • All-American at the college level
    • Success in the Olympic Styles at the senior level

    COACHES 

          REQUIREMENTS

    • High school head coach for at least five years in Kansas and/or College head coach in Kansas for at least five years
    • Must be retired or no longer actively coaching at the high school or college level
    • Must accept the invitation to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony

           PROFILE:

    • High School: Multiple State championships and top-five finishes as head coach
    • College: Top-five national finishes, national championships as head coach
    • Outstanding dual record
    • Leadership positions in state and national organizations (KWCA, USAWKS, NWCA, USAW, KSHSAA, NJCAA, NCAA, NAIA)

    CONTRIBUTOR

    To be considered as a Hall of Fame candidate as a contributor, individuals must have had a significant impact on the sport in Kansas beyond their high school. This can be by initiating change, representing Kansas at the national level, or by promoting Kansas wrestling in gaining wide-spread recognition.
