Sacred Acre is not currently able to accept applications for aerial artists, although we hope to include aerial performance in the future. If you are an aerialist interested in performing at Sacred Acre, or have further questions about future aerial performance at Sacred Acre, please email sacredacreakperformers@gmail.com.
We are accepting group as well as individual applications this year.
**If members of a group wish to perform individually, than a separate application will be required for each individual performer who wishes to perform outside of their group** (i.e. If 3 people apply as a group and 2 wish to also perform individually outside of the group's performance, those 2 people would need to submit additional application for individual performances)
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, starting 6/1/25, until all spots are filled. There are 10 spots available for this year's cohort.
Welcome to year FOUR!
As Sacred Acre grows, so does its story. This isn't just a festival, it's music with a mission. Together we all help to bring awareness to industrial trawling in Alaskan waters and the deleterious impact it has on the ocean floor and all the creatures that call the sea their home.
For 2025, we are expanding our applications to include all forms of performance art. This can include (but is not limited to) fire, LED, go go dancing, silk fans or other selective day props, breakdancing, acro yoga, belly dancing as well as roving and staged costumed characters that are on-theme with the festival.
Costumed Characters:
Sacred Acre has an ever expanding story and this year will be the beginning of that story playing out through emmersive character interactions.
We are looking for antagonist characters who will be "net wraiths": dark creatures who emerge after nightfall to capture sea life in their nets and drag them to the bottom of the ocean, where their kingdom of bones awaits their return.
Additional creative direction and support will be given to applicants accepted to these roles to create a cohesive aesthetic. Characters will have a presence both on side stages and in the audience on Saturday only. Due to the small group size, applicants who intend to perform in addition to playing a character are preferred.
**Special consideration and compensation will be given to individual and group character applicants. If accepted, performers will have additional pre-event requirements outside of the standard performance group requirements.
Please email to sacredacreakperformers@gmail.com with any questions regarding character applications.
At the core of the Sacred Acre Performance Team is a culture of professionalism, responsibility, accountability, and respect.
Our ideal performer is more than just technically skilled, they are also ambassadors of the Sacred Acre Performance Team. This means prioritizing one's role as a performer while at the festival; our performers are essential to creating the Sacred Acre experience for everyone else in attendance, and as such we consider them to be examples and stewards of the culture we wish to create. We hope to see candidates who understand the importance of that role and commitment. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who embody this ethos and display a level of maturity that honors the culture we are all co-creating.
