The Dr. George William Dana, M.D. Legacy Scholarship: Established by his daughters in honor of his life and service, in partnership with “Voice for Veterans,” a Miss Texas community initiative by Natalie DuPré.
Dr. George William Dana served as a physician in World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in General Patton’s Third Army. His legacy as a healer, hero, and humble servant of our country continues to inspire generations. To honor his extraordinary life, his daughters have established this scholarship to encourage young people to reflect on the impact of military service - both past and present.
This scholarship is awarded to a young woman who shows a deep appreciation for the men and women who have served in uniform, and who demonstrates a personal connection to the values of duty, sacrifice, and patriotism.
