1st Thursday is Downtown Santa Barbara’s monthly celebration of local art, culture, and community. On the first Thursday of each month from 5–8 PM, venues open their doors for a lively night of art shows, music, and more. Attendance varies, but we typically see 1,500–3,000 attendees enjoying the evening across downtown.

Before we wrap up, there are just a few things I need to make sure you're comfortable with:*

Provide some kind of artistic or cultural attraction during the 1st Thursday event.Remain open a minimum of 5:00pm -8:00 pm on participating 1st Thursdays.Display a current 1st Thursday destination poster in a visible location at the event.Apply for an ABC permit if your venue will serve alcohol during a 1st Thursday event.If serving alcohol, designate an RBS trained individual to be manage alcohol service at your event.Comply with county health department regulations when/if serving food.
