2025 SSRAA King Salmon Catch Survey

Beginning with the 2020 brood year, all the kings released by SSRAA have the adipose fin missing. A percentage of them also have a magnetic tag placed in their snout. Because they are all clipped, we have an opportunity to account for them using just the fact that the adipose fin is missing.

This is a separate program from the ADF&G marine creel sampling program, which interviews anglers and collects catch information integral to the sport fisheries management in the region. We encourage anglers to continue to participate in the creel program and allow ADF&G samplers to inspect king salmon for biological and the presence of marks/tags. This information directly supports management and helps protect and maintain Alaska's sport fisheries.
