We are aiming to tailor your experience at this workshop so that it coincides with your current experience level in general singing and in Gregorian Chant. Your responses to our forthcoming questions about your experience levels will help us ensure you have the best experience possible.

This workshop will primarily take place in both the Social Hall and church at:

Vehicles may be parked in either of two gated parking lots.
Both the church and social hall of St. Joseph Shrine are wheelchair accessible.
Please note that the church of St. Joseph Shrine is not equipped with air conditioning. The social hall, however, is air conditioned.
How much is the registration fee?
The standard registration fee is $199 per person through 6/14/2025, then after 6/14/2025, $249 per person.
We kindly ask that you consider "ACH Transaction" as your method of payment if possible. This helps us reduce credit card processing fees, which helps conserve our operating budget. Thank you!
Families registering three or more participants may receive progressive discounts to make participation more accessible. To complete a family registration, please contact Mr. Harold Rutila at h.rutila@gmail.com. Only a limited number of family registrations are available, so please place these inquiries as soon as possible.

Who can register?
This event is open to both men and women. This is not an event geared toward one particular age group. The minimum age for registration is 16. There is no maximum age.
We are hoping to host participants across a broad range of ages and experience levels who are interested in learning more about Gregorian Chant.
What is included with my registration fee?
Quality, prepared instruction from highly experienced directors
- Prepared lessons and exercises in general singing, reading Gregorian Chant notation, exploring the spirituality of Gregorian modes, and practical exercises on singing the Divine Office and music of the High Mass, provided by Abbé Raymond Schmidt, Clerical Oblate of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest and Mr. Harold Rutila IV, Schola Director at St. Joseph Shrine.
- Small group instruction and, in some cases, individual instruction, will be available. (If you desire individual instruction, please indicate so in your registration.)
Materials
- Copies of all music you will need for lessons, exercises, the Divine Office, and Sung Mass (ie. you do not need to purchase a Liber Usualis or similar book beforehand)
Prepared Meals
- Light refreshments available throughout each day
- Catered dinner on evening of Friday, 6/27
- Catered brunch after morning mass on Saturday, 6/28
- Catered dinner on evening of Saturday, 6/28
- Most dietary restrictions will be accomodated.
What is not included with my registration fee?
A catered meal is not included on Sunday. After mass, we will walk to a farewell reception in Eastern Market (a farmers' market with numerous restaraunt options on the other side of I-75 from St. Joseph Shrine). Food and drink opportunities at Eastern Market are not covered by your registration fee.
Lodging is not included.
For lodging in downtown Detroit that is walkable to St. Joseph Shrine (< 1 mile), consider:
