    There are no fees associated with a film permit.  To avoid any delays please have all the information submitted at least 10 days before production begins. Please note that submission of all required documents does not mean that permission will be granted.

  • Use of Drone

    If there will be any drone footage captured at all, please note that permission must be obtained to use a drone in an Overseas Territory.  In the event you will be using a drone for any aerial shots, please see the following information:If your production intends to use a drone, permission must be granted by Air Safety Support International (ASSI) at bruce.dancey@airsafety.aero, enquiries@airsafety.aero and copied to Kurt A. G. Menal at kmenal@bviaa.com and nhodge@bvitourism.com.The application form asks for submissions at least 28 days in advance.
  • Insurance

    Insurance certificate must indemnify from any liability in the event of injury to person or damage to equipment ALL of the following:  The BVI Tourist Board and Film Commission, The Government of the Virgin Islands, and the BVI National Parks Trust.  TO AVOID DELAYS, PLEASE FOLLOW OUR SPECIFIC INSTRUCTION REGARDING INSURANCE.Please include the agencies on the insurance certificates EXACTLY as follows:The BVI Tourist Board and Film Commission13b J.R.     Any hotels, villas, housing, boat that the crew will be staying.
  • Letter of Interest

    Should be a letter on your official organisation's letterhead stating your interest and request for permission to film in the BVI.

  • Once you have received your approved film permit, the next step is to secure a work permit. You are required to provide us with a copy for our records to help maintain the good standing and approval of the film permit.
