    What Are Class Pull-Out Lessons?
Class Pull-Out Lessons are a new offering and a key part of our Bronze and Silver programs. These lessons come with the program versus being purchased separately like the member private lessons.

    Here’s how they work:
The lessons take place before class or during the first 40 minutes of class time.
They are not scheduled with a single coach, but are managed by our program leads to ensure each student receives the right coaching support based on their level and goals. They can take the format of 10-minute one-on-one mini-lessons or 20-minute small group work with our staff.

Why It’s Great for Your Child

    • Exposure to multiple coaches: Students develop bonds with more staff members and benefit from different teaching styles and areas of expertise including..
    • Elite coach access: Occasionally, our high-level elite coaches will “push in” to run pull-out lessons with younger fencers. These coaches often have full schedules, so this gives students rare access to their expertise early in their journey.
    • Tailored learning: Our program managers assign coaches and structure lessons to best align with each student’s needs and the themes of class that day.
    • Community connection: This format helps students feel part of the broader club community—knowing and being known by more coaches and peers.

    ADDITIONAL INFO:

Siblings: If you have multiple children, you will need to submit a seperate form for each child.

Please note: A new lesson package must be purchased for the upcoming season, regardless of any unused lessons remaining from a previous package. You will need to pay the difference on packs from the 2024-2025 season starting Oct. 30, 2025)

  • Program Options at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club

We’ve designed our programs to support your child’s long-term success by helping them build confidence, friendships, and skill. Based on over 10 years of experience, we know that students who attend at least twice per week progress faster, feel more connected, and stay in the sport longer.

    This Season’s Program Options:

    Bronze Program:
1 class per week + 1 Class Pull-Out Lesson (a short individual lesson during class time).

    Silver Program (Recommended):
    2 classes per week + 2 Class Pull-Out Lessons.

This structure helps students build momentum, form friendships, and improve more quickly.

Gold Program (Returning Students: Same as Last Season):
Unlimited classes + private lessons purchased in packs of 10, 30, or 50 packs. This is the same format as last year’s Youth/Musketeers program.

    ➤ Note:
Students on the Gold Program are now required to take at least 1 private lessons per week to ensure sufficient skill development, but we recommend 2-3 lessons for students looking to build towards competing and competitive success.

About Class Pull-Out Lessons (New Option)

    Class Pull-Out Lessons
These lessons are built directly into class days, allowing students to receive individualized coaching from different staff members without needing separate scheduling. This structure helps students bond with multiple coaches and feel more supported early on.

These are short, focused lessons given either right before class during pre-class activities or during the first 30-40 minutes of class.

    They can be:
    10-minute mini-lessons, or
20-minute small group lessons (typically 2–4 students)

    Who They’re For:
Designed for students in their first or second season of fencing (generally ages 6–12).

    Cost & Scheduling:

    • Only offered in the Bronze and Silver Musketeers and Youth Programs
    • Will appear on your schedule as "Class Pick-Up Lesson" prior to the class
    • Cost approximately $40 per lesson (billed within the Bronze or Silver programs)

    Why They're Valuable:

    • They allow newer students to sometimes work with elite coaches and Olympians, who have limited availability but who reserve time to work with beginner students a few times a month during our youth/musketeers classes.

    • Help students build comfort and familiarity with a variety of TMFC coaches

    • Enable TMFC's Youth Program Directors (Tim Morehouse and Iba Keita) to adjust training groups dynamically based on student progress and needs as well as look for the best coaching matches from the staff for each child.

    2. Member Private Lessons
Our traditional 20-minute private lessons are scheduled weekly with a specific coach and are geared toward students who are actively competing or preparing to compete beyond the club/local tournament level.

    • Flexible across your schedule depending on coach availability

    • The Lessons are 20 minutes with the exception of our Elite Saber Olympian Coaches (Daryl Homer, Ziad Elsissy, Tim Morehouse, Eli Dershwitz and Giovanni Sirovich) whose lessons are 30 minutes long and 2 from a lesson pack.

    • Offered in our Gold Musketeers/Youth program or for our Elite competitive program students

    When to Upgrade
Once your child is progressing and beginning to participate in club-level competitions, and wants to prepare to compete in reigonal or national tournametns then we strongly recommend youth students doing the gold program and member private lessons vs. the class pull-out lesons.

Cost of Member Private Lesson Packs:
    10-pack: $750 via Check ($850 via CC)
    30-pack: $2,100 via check ($2400 via CC)
    50-pack: $3,250 via Check ($4000 via CC)

  • Group Class (Scheduling)

  • You selected the {programselect} program.

Bronze programs should select 1-class at one location to be scheduled on a weekly recurring basis

Silver (2-classes per week) or the Gold (Unlimited classes per week) can elect to attend classes at multiple locations.

  • GROUP CLASS SCHEDULING

    • Weekly Recurring Classes: The classes you select will be scheduled on a recurring weekly basis, starting from your chosen start date.

    • Group class scheduling is on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to class size availability.

    • Classes will not be scheduled until payment is completed.

    • There is a 24-hour cancellation policy for classes and lessons.

    • You may request changes to your schedule at any time with at least 24 hours’ notice.

    Group Class Scheduling:
We ask families to remain consistent with the class days and times they select, as our coaches plan lessons and groupings based on the students they see each week.

While all classes follow the same overall development model, different groups may focus on varying skills or themes depending on the day. Students who frequently switch classes may miss out on continuity of attending the same class(s) each week.

    Billing Schedule for Monthly Programs
Your first month’s payment will be processed at the time of registration.
Future monthly payments will be billed 28 days after your first class attendance date

Attendance/No Show Policy for Unlimited Class Programs:
This season, students enrolled in any unlimited class programs who consistently appear on class rosters but do not attend will receive two warnings before being charged a $5 no-show fee per missed class.

While there is no late cancellation fee, it is your responsibility to notify the club if your child’s schedule changes or if they will no longer be attending a specific class. Our coaches plan groupings, lessons, and staffing based on expected attendance, so accurate rosters are essential to maintaining a high-quality experience for all students.

    The no-show fee helps ensure:

    • The correct number of coaches are assigned to each class
    • Class plans are relevant and appropriate for the students actually attending
    • We maintain fairness and accountability within the unlimited program

Thank you for helping us keep classes well-organized and effective!

  • Additional Private Lessons?

  • Since you selected the {programselect} program, your lessons are already built into your recurring class schedule—no additional scheduling is required.

However, if you’d like to add additional 20-minute private lessons that are scheduled with a specific coach on a weekly recurring basis, please indicate your preferences below.

  • PRIVATE LESSON: SCHEDULING

  • READ MORE ABOUT PRIVATE LESSON SCHEDULING

    Private Lesson Package Requirement
All students are required to purchase a new private lesson package at the time of registration, even if they have remaining sessions from a previous season.

If you have unused lessons from a prior package, you may apply them to the new season, but you will be responsible for paying any difference in pricing by October 30.

Standard Private Lessons: Private lessons are 20-minutes in duration. If coaches are available, you may schedule back-to-back lessons, allowing for an extended 40-minute session.

There are special rates for Certain Coaches: Daryl Homer, Eli Dershwitz, Ziad Elsissy, Giovanni Sirovich and Tim Morehouse. These lessons are 30-minutes long and require the use of two lessons from your lesson pack per session.

    Private Lesson Scheduling Preferences

Please share any additional information that may help us with your child’s private lesson scheduling (e.g., preferred days/times, previous season’s lesson times, coach preferences, etc.).

We do our best to accommodate requests based on the following priority order:

    1. Returning members from the previous season who register before July 15 and wish to retain their existing time slots

    2. Competitive members who register before July 15
    3. All other scheduling requests, which are handled on a first-come, first-served basis, based on coaching availability and preferred days.

While we aim to honor all preferences, final scheduling depends on staff availability and class schedules. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding!
