  • Kitchen Health and Safety Requirements

To meet health code requirements, all donated meals must be prepared in a kitchen that meets commercial kitchen health and safety standards. These kitchens are often found in churches, schools, corporate ofices, and community centers—and occasionally, a donor’s kitchen may qualify. You’re also welcome to prepare your meal in the PorchLight EMS kitchen which has onsite commercial kitchen pots, pans, and utensils.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept home-cooked meals. That said, baked goods like cookies, cakes, and pies are fine to make at home since they don't require temperature control after baking.

For questions related to meal donations, or to schedule time in our kitchen, please email donations@porchlightcares.org.
