    At Stage to Star Championships there are five age groups. Each dancer’s age group is determined by the dancers’ age on the first day of the competition.

     

    BABY 5 – AGED 5 AND UNDER. £12.50 PER ENTRY


    BABY 6 – AGED 6. £12.50 PER ENTRY


    JUVENILE – AGES 7-9 £12.50 PER ENTRY


    JUNIOR - AGES 10-13 £15 PRE ENTRY


    SENIOR- AGES 14-17 £15 PER ENTRY

     

    VOCAL MUSICAL THEATRE ENTRY - £10 PER ENTRY 

    There are five genres Tap, Ballet, Modern, Song and Dance and Acro. A dancer may enter once in each genre in the correct age group. The time allocated for a solo in each genre are listed below. Time limits are to be taken as maximum and will be monitored.


    Baby and Juvenile Championship winners will be awarded the title “Stage to Star Champion” in each genre. Junior and Senior Acro winners will also be awarded the title "Stage to Star Champion"

     

    Musical Theatre Section - NEW for 2026 - Performers will be awarded "Stage to Star" Musical Theatre award. 

    Junior and Senior Championship Winners  in Tap, Ballet, Modern and Song & Dance will be awarded titles in accordance with the TDCI. Eg TDCI Stage to Star Senior Tap Champion. In Tap, Ballet, Modern and Song and Dance the Junior and Senior Winners in each genre will also qualify for the TDCI Champion of Champions event in Blackpool, January 2025!

    • BABY CABARET

    A SOLO DANCE IN EITHER TAP, MODERN.

    -1 MINUTE AND 30 SECONDS,
    (30 EXTRA SECONDS ARE PERMITTED FOR SONG AND DANCE)

    • BABY CLASSICAL

    A SOLO DANCE IN EITHER BALLET, CHARACTER, OR NATIONAL.

    -1 MINUTE AND 30 SECONDS

     

    TAP

    A SOLO TAP DANCE. 

    -JUVENILE 1 MINUTE AND 30 SECONDS
    -JUNIOR 2 MINUTES
    -SENIOR 2 MINUTES

    BALLET 

    A SOLO BALLET DANCE, POINTE SHOES MAY ONLY BE WORN IN SENIOR.

    -JUVENILE 1 MINUTE AND 30 SECONDS
    -JUNIOR 2 MINUTES
    -SENIOR 2 MINUTES

    MODERN 

    A SOLO MODERN DANCE. 

    -JUVENILE 1 MINUTE AND 30 SECONDS

    SONG AND DANCE

    A SOLO NUMBER INCLUDING SONG AND DANCE.

    ACRO 

    A SOLO ACRO DANCE.

    MUSICAL THEATRE

    A SOLO SONG WITH NO DANCE 

    - 2 MINUTES FOR ALL AGE GROUPS 

    • Entries made after the closing date – 7th AUGUST 2026 will not be
      accepted.
    • Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE
    • All entries will only be accepted with applicable entry fee.
    • Dancers can compete only once in each solo genre.
    • Vocal Musical Theatre - competitors are NOT permitted to enter with the same arrangement as a song and dance entry.
    • Dancers should be readily available to compete one hour prior to
      the timetabled section.
    • Dancers MUST dance in numerical order.
    • All music should be provided individually by each dancer on a
      digital device and clearly labelled.
    • Handheld props ONLY. A competitor or someone of a similar age
      may carry the prop on to the stage.
    • A re-dance is not permitted in championships, technical and
      equipment failure being the exception.
    • The organisers of Stage to Star’s decision is final in accordance
      with TDCI championship rules.
    • TDCI cards are required for all Junior and Senior Championships.
