    Welcome: Welcome and congratulations on joining the Panther Paws Gymnastics Team! You and your child are about to undergo an exciting experience. We are very enthusiastic about our program and are dedicated to all team members. 

    This handbook is designed to answer questions and clearly outline the rules and expectations of our competitive program. Competitive gymnastics is a unique sport that thrives on family support. This does not need to be overwhelming—simply a shared commitment to providing your child with a positive and enriching competitive experience. 

    Philosophy:  We recognize that each gymnast has individual abilities and needs. Our goal is to provide a positive competitive experience through personalized training that helps each gymnast reach her full potential.

    Our motto: “Positive Thoughts Become Positive Results.”


    Eligibility:

    • Open to gymnasts ages 6–21
    • Must pass Team Assessment & Placement Requirements
    • Must have completed at least 50% of Level 4 Community Ed Gymnastics
    • Must be 6 years old by January 1, 2027

    All gymnasts must sign and follow the Gymnast Contract, which includes:

    • Remaining drug- and alcohol-free
    • Demonstrating respect toward teammates, coaches, judges, and officials

    Failure to comply will result in consequences as outlined in the contract. 


    Team Placements, Routines, & Advancement: 

    Team Placement: Panther Paws operates as one large team, with 3 sub teams. Silver (Beginner), Purple (Intermediate), and Black (Advanced), which are ranked in Divisions: Upper, Middle, Lower. Awards are given in each Division based on Age Groups: Novice (6-9), Child (10-11), Junior (12-13), & Senior (14+) . Placement on Silver, Purple, & Black teams is based on assessment results and remains fixed for the season.

    • Final placements announced September 1, 2026 (unless otherwise informed).

    Routines:

    • Gymnasts recieve coach-designed routines or can make their own
    • Routines are typically used for at least two years (with the exception of a new routine through a one on one)
    • Adjustments may be made for rule changes and skill progression 

    Advancement Progression is based on: 

    • Skill mastery
    • Strength and flexibility
    • Mental and emotional readiness
    • Attitude, work ethic, and commitment

    Consistent success at each level is required before advancing to ensure safety and confidence.

    Attendance:

    Gymnasts are expected to attend all scheduled practices and meets

    • 56 practices per season (8 per month) and 8+ meets. (Attend at least 4)
    • Scheduled: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 - 8:30 PM
    • Location: Gym 3, Panthers Field House (unless noted)

    Make-up practices may occur on:

    • Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays

    (No make-ups on Mondays or Wednesdays due to Community Ed)

    Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM (Unless urgent)

    Weekend messages are welcome but may not recieve a response until Monday.

    Injury and Medical Policy:

    • All injuries must be reported immediately to a coac
    • Coaches will notify parents and complete an incident report
      • Outside injuries must also be reported.

    Injured Gymnasts:

    • Must still attend practice
    • Will receive modified workouts within doctor restrictions
    • Must provide a doctor’s note to return without restrictions

    Updated doctor notes are required for any change in status.

    Important:

    • Coaches provide basic first aid only
    • Gymnasts must bring personal supplies for ongoing injuries
    • Coaches cannot administer medication

    Illness Policy

    Gymnasts must report:

    • Illness
    • Rashes
    • Open wounds
    • Contagious conditions (including lice)

    Gymnasts must be:

    • Symptom-free for 24 hours or
    • On medication for 24 hours before returning

    Any gymnast, who has become ill during practice, must report this to a head coach and seek proper assistance in notifying the parent and arranging a ride home.


    Financial Policy (fee is subject to change as this program is based on numbers)

    • Program Fee: $1,050
    • Monthly Payment: $150 due by the 1st of the Month (September–March)
    • Credit card required on file

    Late/Declined Payments:

    • $30 service fee
    • Participation paused until account is current

    Early Withdrawal:

    • Full remaining balance due

    Season-ending injury:

    • Doctor’s note required
    • 50% of remaining balance due

    Competition Season

    • Season: September 1, 2026 – March 2, 2027
    • Divisions/Individuals: March 4–7, 2027
    • Meets: November–February


    Registration deadline is September 1, 2026. This program is a 6-month commitment with 7 months of payment (to lower monthly fees) with 8 practices per month for a total of 56 practices per season.  

    • Important: A gymnast, who has been placed on the team and does not complete the season, will not be allowed to try out for the following season unless approved by Community Education.

    Requirements:

    • Participate in at least 4 meets (up to 8 max)
    • Eligible for Divisions & Individuals competition


    Fees Include:

    • 5 home meets
    • 3 away 

    Lettering through PPG

    • Grades 7-12
    • Passing all classes
    • Attend 4 out of 8 meets during competition season; excluding Divisions
    • Season average All-around score of 27+ points
    • No chemical ineligibilities during the PPG season (September through March)
      • Gymnast will not receive a letter            

    Uniforms & Apparel

    Required:

    • Competition leotard
    • Warm-up leotard
    • Jacket and capris


    Options:

    • Reuse previous uniform
    • Purchase or exchange gently used items

    Private Lessons

    • Cost: $35+/hour
    • Register through Community Education: 320-864-2690

    End-of-Season Banquet

    • Date: Friday, April 23, 2027
    • Time: 6:15–7:45 PM
