Scholarship Qualifications & About:

This scholarship is given by Regina Casaday, the late Rick Casaday, and their family & friends. Rick and Regina were both teachers; Rick for 23 years and Regina for 17 years, the last 11 of which she spent as a principal.  Rick and Regina shared a love for each other, as they were married for 28 years, and also shared a love for the Miss Texas Organization.  Regina has served the organization for the last 46 years and for the last 23 of those years, Rick was serving the organization right by her side.  Rick passed away only a few days after the 2024 Miss Texas Competition.  This scholarship is given both in honor of Regina's continued service and in memory of Rick and the 23 years of love and service that he gave the organization.

Applicants should have a shared passion for the Miss Texas Organization and a desire to contribute to the education of our youth by choosing a career in the teaching field.  

Application Requirements

This scholarship is for young women who intend to go into the teaching profession.

Please submit a one page essay in PDF format that answers the following questions:

-What brought about your desire to be a teacher?

-What area/age level do you hope to teach?

-What do you hope to accomplish as a teacher?

-Who was your favorite teacher and why?

You may include any additional information that is relevant to your goal of becoming a teacher, but please limit your response to no more than one page.
