  • The Nancy Patton Music Scholarship is an annual award given at the Progressive Primitive Baptist Music Workshop in July. The scholarship is awarded by the Workshop with the purpose of enhancing the worship music in Primitive Baptist churches.

Candidates are required to be a member of a Primitive Baptist Church. Candidates are eligible to receive the full award up to 3 times.

The scholarship amount may vary based on the number of candidates who receive the top score based on their application and the amount needed to achieve the intended use of the award. The maximum cumulative amount awarded per year is $5,000. The scholarship may be used for college tuition and expenses, voice or instrument lessons, or the purchase of an instrument.

The scholarship recipient for the year is invited to perform a solo at the Sacred Concert on the final day of Music Workshop. This is an invitation and is not a requirement!

The DEADLINE for application is JUNE 1, 2025. Entries received or postmarked after this date are not eligible for consideration.
