By using the calorie info from your cat’s current food package, we can tell you how much of it will be replaced by Huntly’s fresh food and how much of your cat’s current food to give alongside one pouch of Huntly’s fresh food each day.

    Each pouch of Huntly's contains approximately 70g of fresh food. The caloric density of the Chicken & Mackarel Glow recipe is 1.7 kcal/g, and each pouch provides 119 kcal.

    How to transition from commercial food to Huntly's Fresh Food?

    Transitioning to new food can be a big change for some cats, so here are some tips to help make it smooth during the first 7 days:

    Start with a full meal: Begin by offering the fresh food as a complete meal to see if your cat enjoys it.

    If they hesitate, transition gradually: Mix 25% fresh food with 75% of their current food for Days 1-2, then gradually increase the fresh food ratio throughout the week.

    Serve it warm: Gently warming the fresh food to mice's temperature so it releases its aromas, making it more appealing to your cat. If your cat still seems unsure, be patient and let them explore the new food at their own pace. Every cat is
    unique, and some might take longer to adjust than others!

    What to observe?

    During the trial, please keep an eye on your cat’s:

    • Appetite: Are they eating with interest or hesitating?
    • Energy levels: Do they seem more active, playful, or the same as usual?
    • Stool: Is it firm and regular? Minor changes in texture or frequency are normal during the transition but should stabilize by the end of the week.
