Adult Volunters — Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check:
Adult volunteers aged 18+ are required to provide clean Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to the start of the VBS program. These can be obtained by contacting your local RCMP detachment and inquiring about the days and times that they intake requests for this Check (Note: Humboldt RCMP - Tues-Thurs, 8:30-11am). You must apply for the Check in person at the RCMP detachment in the region where you are living, and you will need to present a volunteer confirmation letter from St. Bruno VBS (click to download) in order for the Check to be processed for you at no cost. Please don't leave this until the last minute -- allow at least 1-2 weeks for processing and mailing time.
NOTE: If we have your Checks on file from our 2022-2024 VBS's, you can SKIP THIS REQUIREMENT as your documents will still be valid. CRCs submitted in 2021 or earlier will require a new CRC to be submited.

Youth Volunteers, aged 12-17:
You will require your parent/guardian to complete and sign the Consent section of the Volunteer Application Form in order to submit the form.

Childcare (ages 1-3) for Volunteers:
NEW FOR 2025 - We are offering childcare for volunteers so that parents with toddlers can also have the chance to participate in making the VBS awesome, and experience the VBS for themselves. Volunteers interested in looking after the toddlers will also be required. Childcare will happen at the Cat.Chat Studio a few blocks south of the church.

VSB Youth Volunteer Terms:
I, the parent/legal guarduan of the above named Youth, hereby agree and consent to the participation my Youth as a Volunteer during the St. Bruno VBS.

I testify that I am not aware of any past or current behaviour or circumstances of my Youth that could endanger the health or welbeing of the Children participating in the VBS program.

General VBS Terms for Minors:
I understand that reasonable precautions will be taken to safeguard the health and well being of the participants in this VBS and that I will be notified as soon as possible in the event of an emergency. In the case of sickness or an accident, I authorize and consent the VBS Team, or other associated volunteers of the VBS program to obtain medical care from a licensed physician, hospital, or medical clinic for my son/daughter in the event that myself or other legal guardian(s) cannot be reached. I hereby do release and forever discharge this Parish, Diocese, St. Bruno VBS, and Cat.Chat Productions from all manners of actions, claims which I or the child named above shall or may have for any reason, arising during my child’s attendance of the VBS. Unless other written instruction is submitted, I also consent to allowing my child’s image to be recorded, either by photograph or video, and used during the VBS week or for future advertisement of Parish VBS programs. Any other use will require your further consent.
