The New Jersey State Police Firearms Investigation Unit provides this training to allow State, County, and Local Law Enforcement agencies the ability to conduct Firearms related background investigations for FIrearms Purchaser Identification Card, Permit to Purchase a Handgun, Permit to Carry a Handgun, and Retired Law Enforcement Officer Permit to Carry a Handgun. This course is intended to provide uniform processing and investigation procedures for all departments. This course will also provide information regarding the latest updates in procedural processes and law related to same.
This FREE training opportunity is for personal responsibility for issuing firearms permits.This includes Chiefs, Administration, Detectives, Clerical Staff, or Civilian Employees.
Topics will include navigating FARS, common mistakes and misconceptions made when issuing permits.
