The Keystone Riding Initiative introduces newcomers to Arabians and Half-Arabians through its support of riding and horsemanship programs. It will provide aid to beginner riders interested in pursuing lessons and horsemanship courses at riding facilities that use Arabians and Half-Arabians in their education programs. The program provides up to $400 per individual applying as a first-time or beginner horse person, regardless of age. Aid is supplied directly to the Arabian or Half-Arabian lesson program, horsemanship course or camp.
Applicants & lesson programs must be in the United States and Canada only, and lesson programs receiving aid on behalf of the applicant MUST use Arabians and/or Half-Arabians in their teaching program or they cannot qualify. Applicants must complete all information below to be considered eligible for this program. If under the age of 10, applicants may be assisted by a parent/guardian to complete the application. Parent/Guardian signature is required for all applicants under the age of 18. An interview may also be required during the award process. Should an instructor wish to apply on behalf of an applicant that shows exceptional horsemanship, potential and enthusiasm for the Arabian breed, and is in need of financial assistance, they may do so, but their application MUST ALSO be accompanied by an application directly from the individual with included parent/Guardian signature, if applicable. Applications will be reviewed by the Keystone committee, and they will determine those to be awarded based on the information submitted, consideration of need, verification of the lesson program selected/submitted, and the amount of aid available. Funding for aid varies year to year and not all applications can be approved.
2026 APPLICATION PERIOD: MAY 15-JUNE 5, 2026 *Applications will be reviewed after period closes, and those receiving funds will be notified by June 30, 2026. All funds will be sent from the Arabian Horse Promotional Fund directly to the lesson program submitted on the approved application, earmarked for use by the applicant in that lesson program.
