    P.S. Happy Bear (Grades PreK-2)

This program features Happy Bear as the main character in an entertaining and interactive performance. During the performance, children will follow along throughout Happy Bear's day. Students will learn how to distinguish between welcome and unwelcome touches, basic resistance skills such as saying "no", to "move away", and the concept of personal space. Children will eventually guide Happy Bear through recognizing and resisting an unwelcome touch and reporting to a trusted adult.

    Kid Safety (Grades 3-5)

This program focuses on safety topics regarding personal boundaries, bullying, social media, online gaming, and how to report abuse. This program is interactive, and students are encouraged to ask questions regarding the content throughout the presentation.

    Personal Safety (Grades 6-8)

This program focuses on safety topics regarding potential online dangers, social media, online gaming, healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, grooming, sextortion, human trafficking, and how to report abuse. Content is presented to students based on an age-appropriate level.

Sexual Assault: What You Need to Know (Grades 9-12)

We tend to conduct our programs by entire grade level. This makes it more engaging and interactive for the students, and it means we can conduct both our programs within one full school day. The usual start time for our team is 8:30 AM.

Happy Bear is scheduled within 20 minute blocks for each presentation. The lesson, or play, takes about 10 minutes, followed by a 10-minute break. Our presenters need their own space so that Happy Bear will be able to take the bear suit off. This area can be a spacious closet, behind a curtain on the cafeteria stage, or any extra classroom. Please note that a restroom is not a suitable location for presenters. Happy Bear and the presenter will need to be stationary and set up in the same location, with no distractions, for classes to travel to for each presentation. A library, gym, cafeteria, or multipurpose room work best to accommodate large number of opt-in students.

Kid Safety takes 30 minutes. We will need a screen to project our slides. Our Community Educator will come with a microphone to make sure students can hear them and light up sunglasses that are distributed to a few students at the end of class that had great participation. There are 10-minute breaks between each presentation.

Students are more likely to answer and ask questions. It also means we can conduct our programs to all grade levels within one full school day. The usual start time for our team is 8:30 AM.
