4th Annual FirCRUST PIE BAKE-OFF
Do you like to bake pies? Do you have what it takes to bring home the Blue Ribbon? Or maybe even the Championship Title? Enter the 4th Annual FirCRUST Pie Bake-Off and find out!
This year we're celebrating our Fircrest Centennial! In honor of this milestone celebration, our special flavor for 2025 is Murphy's Bear-y favorite: BERRY Pies & more! Who will make the BEST berry pie? Will it be YOU? Berries not your thing? No worries! We're bringing back the community favorites as well!
Our Team of "Celebrity" judges are excited to sample and judge your specialty pie. Prizes and bragging rights included!
Sign up begins May 15 for Fircrest residents.* There's NO registration fee.

TIMELINE for the Pie Bake-off:
Saturday, July 19th
8:00 – 9:30 am Deliver your pie to Multi-Purpose Room at the Fircrest Community Center. Pies delivered after 9:30 am will not be accepted.
Attach your name, phone number, and email address to the bottom of your pie plate
10:45 am Judging Begins
12:30 pm Award Presentation
12:40 pm Pick-up pies/pie plates
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: Thursday, July 10th at 5:00 pm (or until registration is full)

OFFICIAL RULES:
- Final pies may not contain raw or uncooked eggs
- No professional bakers permitted
- Pies must be 8-10” and home-made (including crust)
- All pies and crust must be home-made and made from scratch
- Please place baker’s name on bottom of pie plate
- Plaques will be awarded, one per category, AND one for over-all Grand Champion
- All winners will be announced at 12:30 P.M. at the Community Center Multi-Purpose Room. Please join us (not required)!
- A list of award winners will be posted on the Community Center Multi-Purpose Room Window and also the Fircrest Fun Days Facebook page
- Names of the bakers revealed only after the judging process has concluded
JUDGING CRITERIA:
1) Over-all appearance
2) Texture and taste of crust and/or topping
3) Taste and consistency of the filling
CATEGORIES:
BEARY PIES: Blackberry, Raspberry, Blueberry or Marion Berry
Classic Apple
Dutch Apple
Cream: banana, key lime, lemon
Stone Fruit: cherry, peach, coconut
Custard: Pumpkin, pecan
People’s Choice: visual
Categories subject to change based on entries received
