"Learning through Play" with the James River Association

Due to overwhelming interest in this training, we have added additional dates in July (see below). Spots will be filled on a first come, first-served basis, including those who were added to our original waitlist

Join JRA Education Specialist Matt Scott Stone in creating meaningful, fun activities to teach science in your classroom! Together, we will explore how to align your science class standards with engaging activities and create games to get students involved in their learning. We will investigate nature outdoors on hikes and in canoes to capture details in nature to explore through play. Participants will take home their finished activities and receive great giveaways for participating.

Educators must be from these school districts: Richmond metro region: Richmond City, Chesterfield, Henrico, Goochland, Hopewell, Hanover, Ashland, Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Prince George.

Event Dates:
Elementary School Program: July 14-15, 2025
Middle School Program: July 16-17, 2025

Participants will also receive catered lunch and an $80/day stipend.
