• Open Call: Pop Up Exhibitions

  • Submissions Due: Rolling submissions accepted. Selected proposals will be contacted directly to confirm scheduling and logistics.

Exhibition Date: To be determined in coordination with selected proposals.

    Locations:

Reference Room in the Dale Mabry Campus Learning Resource Center. Located just outside the main gallery, this 30-foot wall is situated in a well-trafficked student study area. It is best suited for small-scale solo exhibitions (particularly 2D art) and is available during the academic year (fall and spring semesters). While some 3D work can be accepted in this space, capacity is limited.

Gallery114 Ybor City Campus. A large, flexible gallery space located in the college’s Performing Arts Building, Gallery114 is ideal for group exhibitions and larger installations. The space features more than 80 feet of combined wall space and ceiling heights ranging from 8 to over 20 feet. Pop-up exhibitions at Gallery114 are available during the summer semester only.

    Description:

HC Art Galleries invites artists and/or curators to submit proposals for pop-up exhibitions at the college. These pop-up opportunities are designed to highlight emerging and established artists through short-run, self-directed exhibitions that activate the gallery spaces in new ways.

    Requestor Responsibilities:

    • Propose a title, description, and concept for the exhibition.
    • Deliver and pick-up artworks to the gallery.
    • Coordinate installation and deinstallation during gallery hours (gallery staff may be available to assist but the requestor is primarily responsible for leading installation efforts).
    • Lead all promotional efforts for the show. HC Art Galleries will share artist-provided promotional materials through gallery social media channels.

    Eligibility:

Open to emerging and established artists/curators working in all media. Solo and group exhibition proposals are welcome.

  • Supporting Documentation

Please upload files that support your exhibition proposal. This can include images of artwork(s), past installations, letters of support, or other materials that provide further scope and/or context for your request.

For example, if you are submitting a request for a solo exhibition, images of work related to your exhibition concept are highly recommended.

If you are submitting a request for a group exhibition, it is recommended to add a PDF with information about the artists in the exhibition (you can compile their information into one longer PDF document as needed).

This section is limited to no more than 10 uploads. Please select the materials you believe best illuminate the quality and content for your proposal.
