About The Award:
Each year, Central Valley Scholars honors one exceptional student from our identity-based scholarship applicants with the Inspire Award, established in recognition of Pedro Gamino’s powerful story.
The Inspire Award celebrates students in the Central Valley whose perspectives are deeply rooted in their identity and lived experience. These students challenge norms, spark dialogue, and offer bold, vulnerable, and visionary insights that point to the urgent need for transformation in our educational systems and communities.
More than an award, this honor is a movement, a call to reshape narratives, redefine what it means to be a scholar, and reimagine educational spaces that are truly inclusive, just, and revolutionary. Inspire Award recipients don’t just dream of change, they actively create it.
Whether it's advocating for undocumented and justice-impacted students like Pedro, uplifting community college students like Juan, or expanding multilingual support services like Karina, each Inspire Awardee helps us build a better future, and shows us how to grow.
